When you are talking about irc traffic - in this day and age, your
latency to any one of those 7 servers will be minimal.

I mostly agree with Neph's recommendations. If you're a very light IRC user,
something like Pidgin or Trillian would be fine since it's in addition to
other IM networks.

I personally use mIRC + PnP. I've tried other mIRC addons, but PnP has been
the only one I've used that is unobtrusive yet functional.

2008-03-03 Thread Crazy Canucks

I'd recommend the Trillian client. It allows you to combine the five
major chat networks, plus IRC into one client, and it works very well.
The free version is also fully functional with no ads. You can buy a
"pro" function that adds video chat and a few other options, but the
free version does everything you really need in a chat client.

A compelling argument you have here, good sir. I trust it we're not
going to see you on GameSurge? Perfect.

Move your channel to some real irc-server like QuakeNet or ircNet,
gamsurge sucks.

Thanks for explaining yourself, but lag hardly matters on IRC. I'm sure
it'll do fine.

GameSurge is small and laggy network because it doesn't have much
servers outside US. Therefore it is a bad choice of network for that
kind of channel. Besides, QuakeNet has far more users and servers in
Europe and in the US.

Plus QuakeNet has about every european server provider irc-channels,
therefore there is larger number of potential people to debate.

GameSurge mainly has the US providers, so please consider QuakeNet for
an option.
