For me it's working again without any workarounds or "fixes"

I found a temporary fix to the issue of servers not starting. If you look at
your console you will see the following:
Adding master server 207.173.177.11:27011
could not establish connection to Steam servers.
I have resolved this by adding " -setmaster 69.28.151.162:27011" to the end of
the start line. After Steam/Valve gets their primary server online, you can
remove this option. When sharing this information, please remember to give
credit where it is due.
