Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
Yes the port is being set correctly by -steamport. The 'problem' is it
does not bind to the IP when the +ip flag is set but just to 0.0.0.0
Definately not a major problem, but would be nice if it could be
"fixed".

These two fixes have been released in Beta form. Run the hldsupdatetool
with "-beta linux" on the command line to get them. I expect a full
release of these binaries on Monday if no problems are reported.

I rarely see that in this mailing list, but I'd be okay with that. ;-)
I'll put something similar to that on most all my messages, "just in
case". Even then, I'd really prefer it in my inbox (except in this
case, where we might be able to get our point across) to keep it
clutter-free.

Re: [hlds_linux] Alfred...another update today?

2005-12-02 Thread Craig Moore
Is there any reason that most of the updates that break everything
have to be done on Friday 90% of the time. Fridays are busy days for
the servers and I'm guessing I'm not the only admin that would argue
doing them on Monday would be a lot nice and less stressful. I'm not
exactly a GSP per se, but updating both servers on satellite, fixing
the plugin functions that Valve breaks, and dealing with all the whiny
players complaining about the weapons not being restricted is more
than enough to get on my nerves. Your updates don't usually have this
kind of effect on the plugins, but breaking one of the most popular
server-side plugins for Counter-Strike: Source on one of the busiest
days and then saying you won't fix it until after two more of the
busiest days is just poor practice. I guess my main point here is why
can't you break things on Monday and fix them before Friday?

I hate to whine, but I see no way this doesn't make more sense. It'd
probably make people a lot happier, both admins and clients.

Regards,

Craig (ping)

To those who wish to turn this into a flame war or reply directly to
me telling me how stupid/arrogant/ignorant/thoughtless I am: please
e-mail me directly. Noone on the list wants to read through all of the
flames. Also, I won't respond to any flames on the list.
