Re: [hlds_linux] Bots crashing server

2002-09-01 Thread Rick and Cheryl

Thank you anyway for trying Frank! I think the problem was partly related
to the names having a space in them, I have not had a crash since I removed
it. I did take them down to 4 instead of 6 before changing the names though
so that may have also been part of the problem.

They have always been a little unpredictable. Occasionally they will go
into spec mode instead of leaving when a player joins and often I will have
to kick one of them still playing 15 mins into an Avanti map when there are
14-16 players on the server. That kind of thing is no big deal, as long as
they don't crash the server I will be happy!

Re: [hlds_linux] Bots crashing server

2002-08-31 Thread Rick and Cheryl

Yes, it is commented out of the liblist.gam file, that was required with
adminmod. however, I also run halfd and it is started in the args= line
from the halfd.cfg.

That is the correct way to do it and basically it does the same thing your
doing, it adds it to the args when starting the server.

This is a linux server that has been running in the past with these same
bots just fine although I was only using 3 of them. Additionally, this is a
tfc server so that may create a different set of problems as well.

I am still investigating the problem, I would hate to have to remove them
but that may be the only solution in the short term.

Re: [hlds_linux] Bots crashing server

2002-08-31 Thread HalfLife

Hi there,

I know there is a bit problem with HPB_bot, but try my startup files, i dont have any
problems with HPB_bot now.

Startup command:

./hlds_run -zone 1024 -pingboost 2 -game valve +maxplayers 12 +map crossfire +ip
62.61.140.34 +port 27015 +localinfo mm_gamedll dlls/HPB_bot_i486.so

The Liblist.gam file:

game "Half-Life 1.5"
secure "1"
vac "0"
startmap "c0a0"
trainingmap "t0a0"
mpentity "info_player_deathmatch"
gamedll "dlls\hl.dll"
// gamedll_linux "dlls/HPB_bot_i486.so"
gamedll_linux "dlls/metamod_i386.so"

NOTICE: The dlls/HPB_bot_i486.so file (HPB_bot file) is de-activated in liblist.gam
file Since you are running it in your startup command script...

Hope this will help you..

Please notice that im running Linux. Can't remember if you can use "pingboost" at
Windows servers, and im running HLDM server

Regards
Frank
