Re: [hlds_linux] Half-Life 1 Engine dedicated server update
This update seem to fix the modified version of the "csdos" exploit. But i've modified the "Born to be pig" exploit and it crash my local server. The connect packet (You need to connect twice on the server with this packet) : connect 48 challenge_here "\prot\2\unique\-1\raw\861078331b85a424935805ca54f82891" "\cl_lw\1\cl_lc\1\*hltv\1\rate\1\cl_updaterate\20\name\..\hdelay\30\hspecs\0\hslots\128" See http://aluigi.altervista.org/adv/csdos.txt for details about this. Re: [hlds_linux] Half-Life 1 Engine dedicated server update
Hello Herk, one hint, when I used -nomaster with recent updates I was unable to see my server's status (not only on internet list on steam, but even on hlsw, or favourites server page on steam), like there wasn't any query communication at all. So server was joinable only thru console by connect command. So I have to not use -nomaster. Maybe unrelated, but may help you fix possible future problems. Re: [hlds_linux] Half-Life 1 Engine dedicated server update
I fixed this by removing symlinks that were no longer valid (old steam files, etc). Previously this was not upsetting the service but for some reason it decided to get cranky this morning. kama wrote: > On Sat, 15 Nov 2008, Joseph Laws wrote: > > >> I seem to be receiving segfaults after applying this update (nationwide). >> >> [S_API FAIL] SteamAPI_Init() failed; unable to update local steamclient. >> Continuing with current version anyway. >> [S_API FAIL] SteamAPI_Init() failed; unable to locate a running instance >> of Steam, or a local steamclient.dll. >> /home/$USER/cs16/hlds_run: line 342: 7529 Segmentation fault $HL_CMD >> Add "-debug" to the /home/dmm44/cs16/hlds_run command line to generate a >> debug.log to help with solving this problem >> Sat Nov 15 10:56:49 EST 2008: Server restart in 10 seconds >> Sat Nov 15 10:56:50 EST 2008: Server Quit >> >> > > Using a linked setup? > > I had to add libtier0_s_linux.so and libvstdlib_s_linux.so to my linked > list. > > I used to have libvstdlib_s_r_linux.so and libtier0_s_r_linux.so. > > Do not know why they changed the names on those. > > /Bjorn > > ___ > To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please > visit: > http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds_linux > > ___ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds_linux
