[hlds_linux] Mappack tar.gz or .zip?
-- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] Hi guys, just a short question, I am planing on releasing a mappack, for the clients I will make an installer, for all server admins I will make... Yeah, that's where the question comes into place, would you rather have a .tar.gz file or would .zip work fine as well? I'd like to throw our existing map pack at you and see if you could incorporate that. I'm a big fan of BIG map packs. At one point last year our server had 300+ CS maps on it. Heh. Yeah, that's where the question comes into place, would you rather have a .tar.gz file or would .zip work fine as well? Well seeing as this is the Linux server list I would venture to guess that 90% of the respondents will agree with me and say .tar.gz. That being said, most of us are used to dealing with developers that work only in windows and as such release everything in .zip so we can probably deal with that as well. The best possible solution is to release it in both .zip and .tar.gz so the individual admin can choose the pack that best fits his/her server and OS of choice. ___ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds_linux
