Re: [hlds_linux] Money Bug...

2004-12-23 Thread Clayton Macleod
cs:s, you sometimes get double the cvar's value in the current round
you connected in. Connect during dead round, you show 1600 until the
pistol round starts, at which time you get the normal 800. If you
connect after the dead round but in time to still play the pistol
round, you sometimes (always?) get 1600. After that, no bug. It's just
when you first connect, following rounds behave as usual.

We are working on a fix, ETA is early in the new year. Right now the
work around is to halve the startmoney value (as the bug manifests as
everyone simply receiving double the start money).

(somehow. ill get the exact how-to from a player on my server) switch
to flashbangs and you can throw 2 in a row, within milliseconds of each

2004-12-22 Thread tubesock
Not trying to be an a$$hole and appreciate all the work you guys are
doing... but the money bug seems like rather a simple fix and I think most
of the kids are on Winter Break... there's no way to get it done before they
go back to school? Also for the people that have 3 and 4 day weekends
coming up.

Someone else had mentioned what they think the problem was and I agree,
seems to affect people that load the map faster and another round is spawned
before others get in the map and the Game Commences and the check just needs
to be fixed for the first round of the map.

Re: [hlds_linux] Money Bug...

2004-12-22 Thread Clayton Macleod
It's fairly reproducable. I believe it's got to do with whether or not
you're on the server in time to be present for the round starting. If
you load quickly enough to be there for when the dead round ends and
the pistol round starts, you probably won't have $1600. You'll show
$1600 for the dead round, but then when it resets for the pistol round
you'll have $800. If you don't load quickly enough to be there for the
dead round, and you get there just after the pistol round begins,
you'll probably have $1600.

mean those people who dont randomly get the extra $800 will be stuck with
even less money?

It's a known bug, no solution (although apparently someone that sets
their starting money to 4500ish has no problems, not that I'm
recommending that)

2004-12-17 Thread Clayton Macleod
I tried setting mine to 400 on that assumption, but it didn't seem to
work, was still 1600. It seemed to me that the setting was just
ignored. If I check the value in console it says 800. If I try to
change it to anything, it still says it's set to 800. Go figure.

Could you possibly fix the money bug while you are poking around looking

mp_startmoney is set to 800, yet some players get $1,600 on the first

Here are 3 screenshots in succession. They show the money bug and possibly what is
causing it. I have seen negative money as high as -650, but normally its around -150
or -350.

I can duplicate this any number of times. The screenshots take you thru it.

http://cstrike.gamewarriors.com/images/moneybug1.JPG
http://cstrike.gamewarriors.com/images/moneybug2.JPG
http://cstrike.gamewarriors.com/images/moneybug3.JPG

Starting with $1200, buy deagle and secammo, leaving a total of $350. Some how with
that $350, I am able to buy HE+Flash ($500 worth), and show $150 left. Suicide or get
killed without earning any money. The $150 you show left turns into -$150 which you
didn't have when you bought flash and HE.

I bought using these 2 lines.
alias poor "deagle; secammo; vesthelm; vest"

alias restock "primammo; secammo; hegren; flash; defuser"

Re: [hlds_linux] Money Bug

2003-10-03 Thread Daniel Stroven
Ok, I think I got an idea on this bug.
Last night I was doing some testing. Starting with $1200 dollars. I was
able to buy deagle with full secammo, leaving $350. I then hit my bind for
buying nades. With the $350, I was able to purchase HE+Flash, and still
show $150 left.

The negative side comes in when you get killed having not made any money
back. Then all of a sudden you are showing negative money.

I bought using binds, not menu select. There definitely is something up
with nades and cash.

So any word on the money bug. It actually seems like you have more money
than its showing. Like it shows -350 and you might spawn with only 2400,
but can buy more stuff than what your money shows. I will keep looking to
recreate it..I guess only real way is to record a demo.

I just show you screenshots or record a demo, or play cs and watch yourself.
Lets say the first round or two your team loses, and you have low money..you
start going minus 250 or minus 450 on the scoreboard for showing money.
Neither hostage or TK to cause it.

Ill take some screenshots when I get back from fishing, and put them on a
