Re: [hlds_linux] The libc6 problem(?)

Having a version that works with libc6 2.2.5 would be great.
For some people upgrading to 2.3 (debian sarge) isnt an option yet.
Corporate policies etc.

Hi!
I've heard things about cs:source vs libc6 2.2. I would like a final
confirmation about the fact(?) that cs:source would run only with 2.3.

Because in some forums, people say different things (some say It's the

Thanks. It's your opinion. Let me have my own, and leave this choice to
me.
I'm still asking for that staticly linked binary, if it's possible...
(it is, only a matter of compiling) It would be nice if Valve could
provide that...

You can't use statically linked binaries because it violates the GPL.
So unless HLDS/SRCDS decides to go opensource... they can't statically
link any of their programs against GPL'ed code.
Unreal 2004 dedicated servers were forced to make this switch in their
early releases as well.

the cpu usage is low.
An 18 Slot Server uses max 30% with an XP2800+ and a 2.6.8.1
Kernel/1000Hz
There is no negative ti update to glibc 2.3.x for my system

Currently, CSS will only run with glibc 2.3
Hi!
I've heard things about cs:source vs libc6 2.2. I would like a final
confirmation about the fact(?) that cs:source would run only with 2.3.
Because in some forums, people say different things (some say It's the
problem, others think differently)
So?
