Having a version that works with libc6 2.2.5 would be great. For some people upgrading to 2.3 (debian sarge) isnt an option yet. Corporate policies etc. Madman wrote: Ohh fine... You can't use statically linked binaries because it violates the GPL. So unless HLDS/SRCDS decides to go opensource... they can't statically link any of their programs against GPL'ed code. Hi, i think Sarge is "Stable" enough for an Gameserver. I also have use it for FTP, WEB and 5 mysql Databases. All without problems. After an upgrade to Debian 3.1/Sarge/glibc 2.3.x the server runs great and the cpu usage is low.
