There isn't much difference srcds wise on the distro you use, it's up to personal preference. I've been running a server on wheezy fire several years, but I don't remember having to do anything specific to get it working, just installing a lib or two through apt. (though this could have been because I already had a Jessie apt source setup for other things) James A.
