It is true that many times HLG *HAS* messed things up in the past although I
don't think his intention was to shadow doubt OVER HLG

Exactly.. by doing what you have stated with the maxplayers, HLDS will
do some INCREDIBLY strange stuff with tfc, including letting player cap
the flag over and over and over without moving 3 feet... Strange but
True!

Anomolies like these used to happen on my TFC servers. For a long time
we
thought it was due to something within AdminMod. For some reason, when
we
uninstalled AdminMod and Metamod, the problem would disappear. Then,
after
HLDS 1106 or some old patch like that or 1108, the problem existed even
without AdminMod and Metamod.

The problem was finally diagnosed as a simple thing like adding
maxplayers
to the server.cfg which would be larger than the default (6) or anything
defined in the autoexec.cfg. I believe it had something to do with
resource
alocation in that HLDS alocates a specific amount of resources as the
server
starts up based on command line parameters and the autoexec.cfg. When
the
server.cfg requests more, it has unexpected results.

So, before jumping to conclusions like "it's HLGuard's wallhack block",
people should re-look at the issue because it could very well be not
HLGuard. I would look at what you set in your server.cfg and
autoexec.cfg
files first. There could very well be a setting in that server.cfg that
is
causing this issue.

Take it somewhere else guys. Jeremy, Houndawg was asked you to contact
him privately about this.

I'm sure the whole drama has been caused by a simple misunderstanding.

I know just replying is easier, but it's starting to piss me off, and
no doubt others are getting tired of it aswell.

END THIS THREAD.
