Re: [hlds_linux] Kernel hz patch
slackware 9.1 default with 2.4.22 kernel wow. i hv several servers rebuilt with slackware 9.1 base with minimal drivers and 2.6.0-test9. it performs better than 2.4.22 + 1000hz + preempt. you can try it out. 2x24 cs1.6 de_dust / de_aztec, full slots >80% cpu loading. 300k more bandwidth handled compare with 2.4.22 which indicate much effective cpu utilization. hope this help. chris Jakob andreen wrote: Hello, got a question for the hz patch. RE: [hlds_linux] Kernel hz patch
Ok, tested but nothing happened. [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/usr/src/linux# patch -p1 /root/variable-hz-rml-2.4.20-pre10-ac2-1.patch That's what I did but nothing happens, just was that way for 5 mins then I terminated it. Oh well, guess I'll just install 2.6* soon instead. - Original Message - From: "Rodrigo.be" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Thursday, November 13, 2003 4:40 PM Subject: RE: [hlds_linux] Kernel hz patch http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/people/rml/variable-HZ/v2.4/ go into your kernel source and do patch -p1 <../(directorytopatch)/(patchname) If you see any rejects then you will have to manually patch the patch in.
