Extract the files in the dir above the hlds dir then.. it will overwrite the files. So, if your path is /some/dir/hlds_l/cstrike you would extract the HL update in /some/dir and the cstrike update in hlds_l "man tar" for more information on manipulating tar/gz files. - Original Message - From: "Jay Anstiss" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Sunday, June 09, 2002 6:51 PM Subject: Re: [hlds_linux] [OT] adminmod plugin > Can someone explain exactly how (with the most recent CS/HL updates for > example) you can run/compile the files to update the current ones running on > a server? Can someone explain exactly how (with the most recent CS/HL updates for example) you can run/compile the files to update the current ones running on a server? When I chmodded the last files (or whatever we were supposed to do) and unzipped them it simply created yet another hlds dir within the one I already have...knowing the correct procedure would mean that I don't have to re-install CS/HL again when the updates come out, which I believe should be sometime this week. So are you saying that I should install it? Would it be possible for you to email me off the list about this? I've been trying to get this running for the past few days without much success - your help would be appreciated :-) Jay. Re: [hlds_linux] [OT] adminmod plugin
First question: When you comiled into amx format, did it give you any errors? If it did, then you amx file would be 0 KB. Re: [hlds_linux] [OT] adminmod plugin
do you have a link to this mod? if so I'll take a look at it and see what needs to be done. also, what does "meta list" in your console say? Re: [hlds_linux] [OT] adminmod plugin
You need to add a line pointing to the plugin in: cstrike/plugin.ini (for counter-strike). For example add: dlls/plugin_base.amx to add "plugin_base.amx" once you have done that you should reload your admin mod and then start browsing for info about this plugin using admin_help At 16:13 04/06/2002 +0100, you wrote: >Hi folks - before anyone asks, yes - I have tried the adminmod forums (and >also a chatroom), but have had no success, so forgive me for asking here... > >I have downloaded a plugin that announces the arrival of admins on a server, >converted it to an amx file and placed it in the dlls dir within the csrtike >dir.
