[Hornlist] Whoa! Disregard Previous Link!

2005-03-07 Thread Alan Cole
Dear Friends ---
Sincere apologies for that previous link, which (when I tried it just now)
took me to an uncouth & off-color web site to which I did NOT mean to
direct you.

My face is red from embarrassment at the error. Please forgive me.
What I was trying to send is a link to a semi-couth picture, which you
should get by using the following link instead:

[Hornlist] RE: 2005 Northeast Horn Workshop - What about Midwest Horn Workshop?

2005-03-07 Thread Anna Henry
Has anyone heard anything about the Midwest Horn Workshop? I went last year
(at Butler University), but I have heard nothing about a conference this year.
Does anyone know if there will be one, when, where . . . those kind of things?
Thank you!

Anna Henry

[Hornlist] Concert Disasters

2005-03-07 Thread Leonard & Peggy Brown
The one I remember best is when the shotguns came in many measures early on
the 1812 Overture. The whole orchestra, as one, jumped about a foot out of
their chairs. One lad in the audience was so upset he fainted.

Re: [Hornlist] Solo 'The Hunt' by Ployhar, I believe

2005-03-07 Thread rory
JW Pepper has this title for $4.50. Search their website for title "Hunt"
author "Ployhar."

I played this one in my early days and I loved it. Thanks for bringing it
to mind.

[Hornlist] Solo "The Hunt" by Ployhar, I believe

2005-03-07 Thread Ellen Manthe
Dear Hornlisters,
Please pardon the double post, but I am looking for a solo that I would
think is a level 2 or 2.5. It is called ³The Hunt² and was composed by
James Ployhar, I believe. It was part of a couple of solo collections as
well as a sheet music selection at one time. Someone ³borrowed² my copies
and now I cannot find it in any collection or as sheet music. I have tried
every source that one commonly would look for music, plus other places. If
anyone knows if this selection is out of print, please let me know. If
someone has a copy that he or she would either sell me or copy for me (both
horn and piano parts) please let me know. If you could scan it and send it
as an attachment, I would be more than grateful. I can buy a copy from you
if you wish. I have some students who think they would like to play this
composition, and it is always a favorite with young students so I would love
to have a copy again. If anyone knows where I could purchase a copy, please
let me know. Thank you for any assistance you can give me.
Sincerely,
Ellen P. Manthe, D.M.A.
