RE: [Hornlist] Patterson leadpipe
Sorry, Luke, does it matter "what results you have seen" ? I thought "what you heard" would be more important ? = -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Saturday, November 11, 2006 11:02 PM To: horn@music.memphis.edu Subject: [Hornlist] Patterson leadpipe Has anyone had a Patterson leadpipe installed on a Paxman Model 20? If so, what results have you seen? My son's Paxman needs a new pipe. Can anyone recommend anything else? RE: [Hornlist] Question for Hans
Sorry Richard, that is not the genuine Viennese sound but Viennese horn settings as most pieces are set by Karl Stiegler. This group formated by Han Xiao Ming plays Alex103. And they are quite good including Stefan Dohr e.g., but I have never heard of them since they made the record. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Richard Smith Sent: Saturday, November 11, 2006 10:58 PM To: The Horn List Subject: [Hornlist] Question for Hans A friend has given me a recording by the German Horn Ensemble. It is 6 and 8 part transcriptions of various Wagner pieces. The performances are wonderful and sound very much like what I hear from Vienna. Hans, what do you know of this group? Are they playing Vienna horns? Re: [Hornlist] Patterson leadpipe
That's one way to go, but I would assume Luke's son is looking for different results since a direct replacement would be the first thought, if satisfied. My first choices would be Patterson and Lawson if they make something applicable.
