[Hornlist] Different Wiener Horn

2009-06-26 Thread Klaus Smedegaard Bjerre
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItemssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:ITitem=330337894053
has ended and I have no relation to it.
This one is announced as Wiener Horn, but it is not a single F, not even a
single Bb, which uses the same mainframe as the F version only with shorter
slides and a short straight leadpipe.
This one is a descant f with Wiener Pumpen. Never saw this before.

RE: [Hornlist] Different Wiener Horn

2009-06-26 Thread Reicher, Tom
Hard to say, without examining the instrument, whether this horn was
originally made in this form or whether later modifications resulted in
it becoming a descant F horn. I am sure that some players in Vienna
will have ideas about the history of this type of horn and the
circumstances of its use (high horn Bach cantatas perhaps). Thanks for
circulating the offer.

[Hornlist] FS: Giardinelli S15 and G17 mpc

2009-06-26 Thread Steve Freides
A couple of more mpc's I will likely never have any use for. These
are from around the time I started playing French Horn, which would be
about 5 years ago or so. They are both one-piece (not a separate rim
and cup). They are also both old looking - they've been sitting in a
drawer here and the metal has gotten somewhat darker on the outside.
You'd certainly want to clean them up, but neither was played for more
than a few minutes and nor inserted into an instrument more than a few
times.

Each $20 shipped to the lower 48 via USPS Priority or First Class mail.

On the bright side, fixing horns does make =

you irresistibly attractive to women.

Or, Steve, maybe all that metal exposure just makes you BELIEVE you are
irresistibly attractive to women.

Dave and Steve,
In my case I was irresistable to women until I started to fix horns.
That put an end to that!
