[Hornlist] Vintage Conn 8D T-shirts
This is a follow up post to one I made a couple of months ago. I decided to make T-shirts for a couple of folks I know (including my son) who play and are fans of vintage Conn 8Ds. The design is taken from the bell engraving (with an additional horn icon). The design can be found at this link: http://www.flickr.com/photos/21711...@n02/?saved=1 In addition to this design, for the true fan I can have your serial number put on the back. Several people have expressed interest in getting a shirt, so I thought I would try to get a bunch printed and reduce the cost. It looks like I'm about at a quantity where I can get them for $8. If you are interested, here is the info for getting one: The cost is: T-shirt $8 Serial number on back $5.50 (optional) Shipping (priority mail flat rate envelope) $5I can ship up to 3 shirts in on envelope. Please email me with what T-shirt size you want, and if you want your serial number, the number. Also send me your mailing address where you want the shirt sent. I think the easiest payment method is going to be PayPal. I have set up an account, and you can use your credit card to send money. To do this, go to https://cms.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/?cmd=_render-content&content_ID=marketing_us/send_money Send to me, ree...@embarqmail.com, and put your email on the From line. Select "Personal", "other" for the transaction type at the bottom. You will then be asked for credit card info etc. (I won't see any of that.) There is a transaction fee of 30 cents + 2.9%, or about $0.70, unless you already have a PayPal account and are paying with a balance. Since I don't know if some of you use PayPal, I didn't add the transaction fee to the price, but I ask you to choose "buyer pays" when you are asked to make that choice. [Hornlist] T-shirts for vintage Conn fans
Hi folks. I would like to make T-shirts for some folks I know (including my son) who own vintage Conn 8Ds. Since the shirts will be cheaper if I get more printed, I would like to see if anyone else would like to buy one. The design is attached (I hope attachments get through to the list). It comes from the bell engraving (probably obvious). I will have them printed in a brass-like color on a dark shirt (brown or black). The cost...depends on how many I print. At the outside, it will be $12 for the shirt (hopefully a few $ less), and whatever it costs me to mail it to you ($5?). If you would like your serial number on the back (for the true Conn 8D fan), that costs an extra $5. If you think you would like one, please send me an email. After a week or so I will see how many people are interested and then get a final price. I will email you and then give you paypal info for actually ordering one. You'll of course have to send me your size too. Thanks, Doug Reece ree...@embarqmail.com Orlando, FL PS. I contacted Conn and they said it was OK to do this! A thank-you out to them. ___ post: horn@music.memphis.edu unsubscribe or set options at http://music2.memphis.edu/mailman/options/horn/archive%40jab.org
[Hornlist] Braces
My son got braces a half a year ago and it affected his playing significantly--he lost about a fifth (interval) off his high range. He has worked on getting this back, but without much success. Meanwhile, my other son who plays trumpet also got braces and it didn't affect him much at all. (I realize the mouthpieces are different, but...) There isn't a problem with the braces hurting, just loss of high range. I am wondering what experience teachers and students have with braces. Is it common to have this much effect? (I see in the archives that there is often some effect, but I haven't found much detail.) Should the range come back at some point with practice? For players who have had this problem with braces, does the problem go away after the braces come off (eventually)? Thanks-- ___ post: horn@music.memphis.edu unsubscribe or set options at http://music2.memphis.edu/mailman/options/horn/archive%40jab.org
