[Hornlist] Horn playing in military bands
Hey I'm kinda new to the horn list. Currently I'm taking a brass pedagogy class for my undergrad and I need to do a paper. I was wondering if any one has any useful ideas on military bands that would help me out with my paper. Specifically horn playing in military bands. I've already checked out the Army, Air Force, Marines, and Navy band pages pretty extensively. [Hornlist] High Range Fingerings
I've read in several places to never regarde a high C as the top note on the horn. My only problem is i don't know the correct fingerings for anything higher than that. I play on a semi-new conn 8D, so if anyone could help me out, it would be great. [Hornlist] mouthpiece pressure
I've read all the articles on hornplayer.net. I've been debating if I should try and play with less pressure. So maybe someone out there can help me out. If I have a red ring on my top lip after about 7 min of playing especially high range stuff. Am i using too much pressure?
