[Hornlist] practice mutes
Hello, I'm looking for practice mute, but I couldn't find much reviews on them. Please share your experiences on various practice mutes: which you find good, less good, or terrible? Which mute has best quality for reasonable price? I found that Humes and Berg and Dennis Wick mutes are cheapest and at the moment they are at the top of my list. All recommendations are welcome. I need some quite fast, fun to play and nice sounding intermediate piece for my 14 years-old sister to perform in competition in addition to Nocturno (for horn and piano). Range from f below the staff to g or a above the staff. And also, some advanced pieces for trio horn+trumpet+piano. All recommendations are welcome. Thanks in advance Julius - Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! [Hornlist] tuning the horn
My new teacher said that it is not neccesary to pull out valve slides for new horn at all(only the main tuning slide should be adjusted). He said that i should adapt myself to horn, not the horn for myself.. I tuned my horn following the article in february's Horn Call and for Bb horn there was about 1cm, and for F - 1,5-2cm. Is it normal? And what do you think about tuning the horn, adjusting valve slides? What methods of tuning you know and preffer?? Thanks __ Do you Yahoo!? Win a $20,000 Career Makeover at Yahoo! Re: [Hornlist] Re: Buzzing
hello i don't know if i am right, but i can't agree to idea that "Once you can buzz, don't do it." i could say then "Once you can play your horn, don't do it"... i don't know exactly, but i think that throat is not muscular structure and we dont need work on it as much as we work on our embouchoure I think that buzzing helps to improve embouchure muscles, with guarantee that they will not be fatigued with mouthpiece pressure --- [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Writes: > > " Does anyone know the pro's/con's of buzzing?" > > Once you can buzz, don't do it. > One does not sing by tightening their throat > (larynx). > Don't play horn by tighten your lips.
