While Dan has stated this very wellthe discussions of Non Horn Related topics
has driven many away to the other Horn list.  I for one, will be joining them. 
Any time we get off topic, Prof Pizka has his views..and so do others.  Even
though we have been constantly reminded, the message just has not gotten
through.  Maybe it's time someone offered to moderate this list.

   Sorry for writing again,
   but i have one more question. Has anyone tried out or plays on a Hans
Hoyer horn? What do you think of them and the sound and feeling of them? Im
mainly interested in hearing about there Geyer wrap one. Is it good or bad?

Michael,
I can offer no experience on a Hoyer Geyer wrap...but I do have a Hoyer
Descant.  As far as the mechanics, it's great.  Really free blowing.  The
mechanical valves are fast and quiet.  While I can overblow my Conn 8D at
times, I have not had that happen with the Hoyer.  I do know someone who
plays a Hoyer 4801..and she is most happy with it.  On a recent visit to
Rayburn's Music in Boston, I had hopes to try the new Hoyer Heritage...but
they had none in that day..guess they shipped them all to the store in New
York.
Being a rank amateur and a Horn convert, I can't say that I use my right
hand for major intonation problems.  I have my valve slides fairly well
set..and only use the main tuning slide for intonation problems.  Like
others have stated, the 4th line D can be a bit out on my 8D...and for
sustained notes on that pitch, I tend to use T3 or 1 on the F side.
