[Hornlist] Allegretto, Beethoven No. 7-Lorraine Sharp
Looking for sheet music for a french horn octet-'Allegretto from Beethoven's Symphony No. 7' arranged by Lorraine Sharp pub. Henslee. Can't seem to find it --hornmart <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> shows it listed but he must be defunct since his emails come back undeliverable. Any other source anyone knows about? Much appreciated -- Thanks, Jim ___ post: [EMAIL PROTECTED] unsubscribe or set options at http://music.memphis.edu/mailman/options/horn/archive%40jab.org
[Hornlist] Re:Slide lock rings
Thanks to all who answered my original question on slide lock rings. Those who aren't interested go away :) From those who responded to me privately Alexander has them for about $6.50 each. Paxman has them for about double that. I found my three of the Paxman variety from Wichita Band Instruments this past weekend. The fellow there diligently searched through all the drawers there on Saturday and found three for me, returned my call and made the sale. A later email to me said [EMAIL PROTECTED] has them as well. I had a pax with them a few years ago and for a quick 3-4 second water dump when a water valve won't 'cut the mustard', there's no comparison. Try and line up a 'mark' on the slide in that time.forget it. Jim ___ post: [EMAIL PROTECTED] unsubscribe or set options at http://music.memphis.edu/mailman/options/horn/archive%40jab.org
[Hornlist] Tuning slide locks
Does anyone KNOW where you can get tuning slide locks? Osmuns and Dillons aren't carrying them as a rule. Dillon's told me they only come to them from Alexander and only when an order of horns come in. I'm thinking there must be another avenue to pursue getting these. Any solid suggestions? thanks, Jim ___ post: [EMAIL PROTECTED] unsubscribe or set options at http://music.memphis.edu/mailman/options/horn/archive%40jab.org
[Hornlist] Chewing-embouchure problem
Any quick fixes for chewing? Every note I tongue requires a chewing motion with my mouth. You 'in the know', know what chewing is. I've had brief instruction on fixing this but it hasn't taken or I haven't 'taken', either way, it still exists. The faster I tongue, the more it goes away since I suppose the mouth doesn't have a chance to set up to 'chew'. I've done 'alright' up to this point playing-wise but think I could do much better and things would be much better and simpler if I eliminated this embouchure problem. Any experienced help or references on this subject much appreciated. I've done this for years but would like to have it disappear tomorrow. Bonus points for anyone who can point me in that direction, too. :) Thanks in advance -- Jim ___ post: [EMAIL PROTECTED] unsubscribe or set options at http://music.memphis.edu/mailman/options/horn/archive%40jab.org
