[Hornlist] James Thatcher CD
Hi everyone. I have been off-list for a while. I hope you are all well. I was wondering if anyone knew if the Bach pieces (The ones Derosa and D'Almeida recorded in a lower key) from Mr. Thatcher's solo CD are published and where I could obtain these. Re: [Hornlist] James Thatcher CD
Alex, The Almeida transcription of the Bach Partita (as recorded by Vince DeRosa and Laurindo Almeida) is available through the LA Horn Club's website. Jim Decker handled my transaction. (There is a fee-type honorarium that is given to Almeida's widow - I forget the amount.) On the top of the first page is the following address: Guitar Solo 1411 Clement St. San Francisco, CA 94118 (415) 896-1144 The sheet music may also be available from this source. There was an interview with Thatcher in the May 2002 edition of the IHS magazine The Horn Call, volume XXXII, number 3, May 2002, page 57. The article was written by Mark McFarland. If you do not know of someone who receives Horn Call, then perhaps you could find it at a University (or music conservatory) library. You could also contact IHS about whether back-issues are available - http://www.hornsociety.org http://www.hornsociety.org/HORN_CALL/index.html Jay Kosta Endwell NY USA ___ post: [EMAIL PROTECTED] set your options at http://music.memphis.edu/mailman/options/horn/archive%40jab.org

Hello it's Branden again. Just curious if anyone knows whether or not studio horn player James Thatcher has an official web page. I found a couple of pages with about a paragraph a piece containing info about his growing up and some of his projects. I really want to know more about this guy his playing encouraged me as a horn hobbiest to play better. Thank you very much. _ Help protect your PC.
