Through the (missing) mouthpiece, of course. The lead pipe, with pigtail, goes ends at the bell, which would be in rain-catcher position. Those are Stölzel valves. Note that the lead pipe goes into the bottom of the 3rd valve. It must be an early peck horn. Interesting staggered 2nd valve to accommodate the longer middle finger. :-) Would the valves be simple "blocked off" cylinders with holes in the sides? I can't see how the air going into the first valve could be directed right into the slide and left into 2nd valve and still have a curve, unless they also spin when depressed. They would have to be right angle corners, wouldn't they?
