RE: [Hornlist] works for horn and wind ensemble

Wasn´t there a proverb regarding a London based chamber
orchestra Strings bad winds ?

Wind ensembles could also consist or incorporate back
winds, which often escape from conductors

A local community band is premiering a new work by David Gillingham in
a couple weeks.
It was commissioned by the Band (Gower Community Band) and will be
premiered by a former student of mine (and son of the band director)
Bruce Bonnell.
Bruce has been a colleague of Gillingham's at Central Michigan
University for a number of years now. As the band is a completely
amateur group, I would guess the band parts would be around grade 4 -
5, with a considerably more challenging horn part. Early accounts are
that all parties are extremely enthusiastic about the piece.

I'll report back after the premiere late in May.
