Re: [Hornlist] low horn/ bass cleff

2008-07-14 Thread corsolo
Here's another, from college days.  While riding in the organ professor's old
car (affectionately called "The Green Hornet"),
probably leaving a trail of rust and lost parts, my friend Glen tried to roll
down a back window but the handle came off in his hand.

His comment?  "The Handel in the Bach is baroque."

Reminds me of about the worst pun in musical history.

Bach, and the world Bachs with you.
Offenbach, and you Barcarolle.

OK, this reminds me of my Dad's office. He hands a sign at the door when he
is out; it says "Bach soon; Offenbach sooner."

Hi Pax,

I always sang bass until the accident. Now only
dogs can hear me sing.

RE: [Hornlist] low horn/ bass cleff

2008-07-09 Thread Steve Freides
All musicians should learn to play the piano. I was in the same boat as
you - I got to college as a guitar player and had never seen a bass clef.
Perseverance furthers, and learning to play the piano is valuable beyond
words to any musician of any instrument, in my opinion.
