RE: [Hornlist] Unwarranted attack onf Prof. Pizka
Hi all, I personally think that we should get back to the old path :after all , It is a horn list... Regularly I tend to argue fiercely about political issues. Unlike Chinese food or Japanese music , for some people , it is , literally , a matter of life and death . But I really get the feeling sometimes , that I need a refuge. The list is a sacred domain in the sense that it is not and should not be dedicated to anything else but the art of horn playing . RE: [Hornlist] Unwarranted attack onf Prof. Pizka
Hello LT, if you suggest between your lines, I might be antisemitic, I tell you something very, very strongly now: Nobody of us all has been asked if he or she would like be born into this world, nobody. And nobody has ever had a chance to chose his mother. Conclusion: any, really any racism or race discrimination is absurd & confirms just, how idiotic mankind can be. But one has the right, everyone has the right, to chose his or her friends. If one dislikes a certain politic of a certain group of people, this has absolute nothing to do with racism, even this is mixed up by small minded & short sighted politicians & many other people. Condemning but also understanding e.g. Israels policy is possible. It has nothing to do with the fact, having many Israelian or jewish friends. Even if you dont like Chinese food e.g. you might have a lot of chinese friends. You dont need to be in fond of Japanese music, to be a friend of Japanese businessmen. Even you are an anti alcoholic & Saudi, you can have arch conservative catholic bavarians as friends. Basta ! Feeling an Ueber-Ego infront of another person, well, it might have to do with the particular persons permanent or hidden inferiority complex, perhaps. A psychiatrist might be of good help then. But that is not my business. === -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of sheldon kirshner Sent: Sunday, September 10, 2006 4:28 AM To: 'The Horn List' Subject: RE: [Hornlist] Unwarranted attack onf Prof. Pizka Who sent anti-semitic emails to you? Not unlike the aftershocks of an earthquake. Just as you believe things are about back to normal you feel one, but with time the aftershocks slowly decay in intensity and you end up back at the steady state. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Jim Price Sent: Saturday, September 09, 2006 11:56 AM To: horn@music.memphis.edu Subject: [Hornlist] Unwarranted attack onf Prof. Pizka I would like to express my profound embarrassment for the vicious and totally unjustified personal attack on Hans by Mr. Traxx. I can attest that Hans is a thoroughly decent man, dedicated to helping others, particularly other aspiring horn players. I wish that he had been born in the U.S., rather than Austria, so that I could claim him as a fellow American. In spirit I do claim him as such, and the human race is better off for his presence among us. I apologize to Hans for this public rudeness. James R.
