Bonjour,

Une quatrième image SPOT-6 - environ 60 km de large à 1,5 m de
résolution, prise le 14/04/2013 - offerte par Airbus Defence Space,
GEO-Intelligence (ex Astrium Geo-Information Services, ex Spot Image),
qui avait été retenue au Contrôle Qualité, est maintenant disponible.

Un nouveau job du gestionnaire de tâches a été défini pour cartographier
la zone couverte, et étendre le job 489 :
http://tasks.hotosm.org/job/503

Bien cordialement,

Jean-Guilhem

[HOT] Exports service down for Central African Republic job

2014-04-14 Thread Severin Menard
Hi,

The GIS Officer working for OCHA in Bangui, CAR, told me the shapefiles
from this job http://export.hotosm.org/fr/jobs/6352 covering the whole
country do not work. I tested it my self and when opened in QGIS, the
geometries do not show up and the attributes tables are empty. Can a HOT
exports admin person try to fix this? I also notice the Garmin maps files
are 0 Kb. Tested the SQLite File, it works.

Sincerely,

After some fantastic work from SOTM US hackathon day attendees, the Valparaíso

Dear HOT Team,

I am a chilean OSM mapper. I saw your tasks around the emergency in
Valparaíso but there are a few hills without cover that currently are in
fire (I do not know how to say that but I think you can understand it). The
places are mainly: Cerro Ramaditas[1], Cerro Rocuant[2] and his street
Cuesta Colorada[3]. You can check this for ourselves in National Television
of Chile[4] where says Rocuant, Ramaditas and Cuesta Colorada are in alert
due to the propagation of fire in the area.

The emergency in this areas has appeared since yesterday.

Take the time you need to add this areas, but please consider them.

Re: [HOT] Looking for maps of Lesotho

2014-04-14 Thread Dave Corley
Well I've been busy contacting a number of institutions as well as the ones
that many here provided and gotten some good responses (where I've gotten
responses).

Pierre,

I've grabbed the Lesotho file from there and plan on trying it out once I
get a few more things sorted. Thank you for that

Mark,

Apologies I haven't gotten back to you. Thank you for your assistance, it
very much appreciated. You mentioned about needing images as GeoTiff
EPSG:4326 but when I looked at some suitable maps on the Texas Libraries
site I can not see anything but JPEG's but you mentioned using the Tactical
Pilotage maps from that site so I'm wondering if I have missed something
with regards getting the images in that fornat.

There are 6 sheets from the index map [1] that I am looking to crop and
rectify, namely

SH-35 3
SH-35 4
SH-35 7
SH-35 8
SH-35 11
SH-35 12

They are all located at [2]

If you could steer me in the right direction I can sort out the
rectification and cropping of those sheets.

Thanks,
Dave

Hi Dave, Ok, we made the TPC's a WMS Layer you can use in JOSM (They are
world wide coverage) We make the service free for Humanitarian Usage

To access it in JOSM, ad a WMS Layer with service url of

 http://topo.disasternet.org/?

... (including the ? in the end)

and choose the Worls TaticalPilotage Maps (Humanitarian Use Only) Option
 the click Ok

You can then choose it as a backgound layer from the imagery Menu

 Hope it helps

*Jaakko, Nicaragua is also covered by the TPC's so it may be of some
additional value to you as well*

 Dave,

A good ressource for names is from
 http://earth-info.nga.mil/gns/html/namefiles.htm

You can download the country file for Lesotho. In a spreadsheet, you can
filter to keep only the populated places (ie DSG=PPL).
Then select the following variables, add a place column and save as CSV
 file.
 - LAT
 - LON
 - FULL_NAME_RG (rename as name)
 - add a colum place and give it the value hamlet

In JOSM, the opendata plugin will let read the csv file. Using Bing
Imagery or other, one important step is to align the Place tag with the
villages. The TODO plugin can be used to pass the list of places one by one.

Dave, OK, we have some TPC Maps already done

Please go to http://disasternet.org and double click on the Show Maps
 Icon

Then Click on Menu - Crisis - TPC and check the area. These maps were
downloaded from University of Texas Library so they should e in the Public
 Domain and Ok to Trace

If of value, I will make he layer available as a wms layer for you to
use. It wil take me a couple of days

In the mean time, if you dig any other maps up and can trim georeference
them for me, I will make them available as well, I will give you an ftp
account where you can upload them. We need them as a GeoTiff EPSG:4326
preferred, with internal overviews, but NOT JPEG Compression (other
 compression is ok)

BTW, the first time you access these, it will take some time for the tile
cache to build, but after that, they should render reasonably quickly

 Please let me know

 regards

 Mark

[01:06.09] MarkC DaCor Great, did you get it working in JOSM
[01:06.36] MarkC DaCCor The TPC's for your area are already there
[01:07.23] MarkC DaCor, what doyou need uploaded, I can probably do it
for oyu
[01:37.26] MarkC Dacor The TPC's Iam referring to are the Tactical
PilotageCharts. The link on oyur email was forthe AMS Charts. If you want
to rectifythese, no problem, I will add them to the wms layer and you can
use both

Dont worry about the Dropbox, make the maps public and give me the links
once rectified and I will download them direct and add to the wms for you.
