[HOT] [CROWDSOURCE] World Bank Challenge Fund Proposal
Hello Hotties, I am reaching out to the HOTOSM community for proposal ideas for the World Bank Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR) and UK Department for International Development (DFID) Challenge Fund [1]: *This Challenge Fund seeks to provide small grants to projects that address the challenge in bridging the gap between technology and on-the-ground user needs in the field of disaster risk identification. This can be achieved through the development of data, products and approaches to support disaster risk management decision making and build resilience, including better information, but also strengthening key steps in moving from information to insight and behaviour change.* Proposals should focus on the use of HOTOSM tools and mapping in accordance with the following criteria: - A specific problem statement under GFDRR Pillar 1: Risk Identification https://www.gfdrr.org/area/Pillar1 - Geographical focus on developing countries with an emphasis on the Africa and Asia regions - Development of open access data, products, tools and approaches. HOT is looking to submit two proposals. The first one looks at linking the use of InaSAFE [2] and the currently missing community-driven resiliency data that provides a voice in identifying local strengths and challenges in Indonesia. This is important for bridging the gap between the technology and the needs of the on-the-ground users, as it enables realistic and locally-owned analysis of social vulnerability. We would like to ask for your help in coming up with a second proposal incorporating OpenStreetMap and HOT Tools. [HOT] [forum] [Iraq] Need help with data export
Hi Hotties, Maybe somebody would be able to help here : http://forum.openstreetmap.org/viewtopic.php?id=30463 Index » Crisis mapping » [Iraq] Need help with data export Hey all, I am working for humanitarian response in Iraq for Syrian refugees and Iraqi IDPs. For long time information management units struggle to get up to date bilingual dataset with settlements for Iraq. That would facilitate a LOT humanitarian response in all sectors. Current COD from OCHA, used for last months, is based on old digitized maps and is far away from ideal, only English and in a lot of cases not correct. Since June I went across a lot of datasets and visits in the fiels, and can say that OSM data for cities, towns, villages and localities seems to be the most comprehensive dataset for Iraq. However I struggle to find a way to export data as bilingual (English and Arabic). Ideally would need in csv or shp to be able to share with IMOs. Could anyone give me a hand with this? Many many thanks! ___ HOT mailing list HOT@openstreetmap.org https://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/hot
