[HOT] Knight Prototype Fund Brainstorm

2015-08-11 Thread Russell Deffner
Hello everyone,

Sorry for the short notice as this slipped past our radar when first
announced, but we have a couple great ideas already being tossed around for
the next Knight Prototype Fund

. This round is focused on "projects that explore media, journalism, civic
experience, and data/information needs."

Therefore, we welcome you to join a brainstorm/drafting meeting tomorrow 12
August at 1900 UTC on the #hot IRC channel. The working group calendar
seemed like the best place to put this (i.e. mini-fundraising wg meeting),
so it is also there:
https://www.google.com/calendar/embed?src=hotosm.org_848e89aaiab04ag94d23rqn

Hope to 'see' you there,

=Russ

P.S. I don't have a google doc set-up or anything yet, but will try to have
that before the meeting starts unless someone beats me to it.

Whereas, a Japanese or Chinese restaurant would make a more colorful menu

[HOT] Fwd: Resultado Convocatoria de Proyectos Día Mundial Humanitario

2015-08-11 Thread Tyler Radford
Dear all,

I'm forwarding an email from UN OCHA Colombia. Work led by HOT member
Humberto Yances in responding to the landslide in Salgar, Antioquia,
Colombia was selected by UN OCHA Colombia, Instituto de Estudios
Humanitarios (Institute of Humanitarian Studies), and the Grupo de Donantes
Humanitarios (Group of Humanitarian Donors) as one of the projects
demonstrating best practices in the "Innovation" category of projects.

There is an awards ceremony next week in Bogota, Colombia, which Humberto
will attend on behalf of HOT. Congratulations!

Estimado Tyler,

Cordialmente,

Re: [HOT] URGENT Mapping Task - Myanmar Landslide Affected Villages

2015-08-11 Thread Ahasanul Hoque
I am wondering to see that some mappers just drawn boundary including some
buildings and tagged as landuse=yes though the image was quite good to draw
each building ! Please follow the instruction while you are mapping.

thanks
