[HOT] Thank you + Support needed in Validation and stats #MXEarthquake2017
Hi Humanitarian mappers J Hope everybody is doing well, as you know southern states of Mexico got hit by an earthquake last week. In these States a large part of the population lives in poverty and more than 2 million people were affected by this disaster. The response by the activation team and volunteers has been incredible so as a citizen of this beautiful country, Mexico, I want to thank you all for all your support. Mapeadora (Céline) and myself we have been leading most of the coordination in the country and at this time we are under conversation with citizens and the Government of Mexico to make the data available and useful for all institutions. But there is still a lot of work to do, in case you have some minutes to share with us we will really appreciate your support in the following tasks: -Validation: there is a lot of work there and we are not able to release the datasets without the validation completed -Statistics: If someone can help with overpass or other tools to have the visibility of all contributors and all work done and share this with the public is highly appreciated Thanks again for all your support! Re: [HOT] Need orientation for mobile tools in desaster context
Hi Emir + Daniel, Thanks a lot for your suggestions, we make an introduction e-mail yesterday to OpenAerialMap team (Cristiano and Nate). I expect they will start the conversation today. Hi Emir, I went through your website, it looks very interesting, do you have like a manual or Best practices document that will help. At this moment we lack of enough time so anything you can provide will be of great value. [HOT] Collaboration OSM México and Gov of MX for doing Mapping methodology for Disaster prevention
Hi team, I hope everybody is starting a year full of amazing projects. The Gov of MX contacted us to get guidance about how to improve Disaster prevention using maps. Their plan is: a. First Stage- Mapping in OSM shelters I thinks most of the HOT teams in many countries did already an amazing job so I wouldn't like to invent the wheel, the best will be to get the best practices already learned from different projects to get that data and upload it in OSM. Is there any Manual/Github/Wiki? Probably there will be data already available and data that needs to be collected in the field Thanks in advance for your support, Miriam ___ HOT mailing list HOT@openstreetmap.org https://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/hot
