Re: [HOT] JOSM plugin / Replace geometry
Thanks again Andrew for sharing! The Conflation plugin does exactly what Jiri was suggesting. It is kind of a mix between ReplaceGeometry from UtilsPlugin2 and todo list plugin, with additional parameters. I have included it in the workflow of this coming import. https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Eastern_DRC_%26_Western_Uganda_Maxar-Ecopia_Buildings_Import/Workflow I'm open to any improvement that could be brought to this proposed use case, so please let me know if you see any. Re: [HOT] JOSM plugin / Replace geometry
There's actually already a plug-in that does this. It used the Java conflation suite to make matches and then each match was combined by automatically calling the replace geometry tool. It was a bit finicky and kind of hard to learn how to use, but it did work. Here is the wiki page for it. I don't know if it still works or died from bit rot, but last time I used it it worked fine. https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/JOSM/Plugins/Conflation Keep in mind any import guidelines if you do use it, etc. In my case I was using it to apply nodes I created myself in JOSM to existing data as the work flow was just easier, making it not an import, just a different editing workflow. [HOT] JOSM plugin / Replace geometry
Hi, If there is anyone around with any interest in building a JOSM plugin similar to "Replace geometry" but which would work on groups of buildings, for conflation purposes, please do let me know. That could save some mappers' time when adding new buildings on areas previously covered by mapathons/remote mapping, while maintaining object history. Thanks and all the best, Claire ___ HOT mailing list HOT@openstreetmap.org https://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/hot
