Re: [hpx-users] Just a student who wants to get involved in a GSoC project

2016-03-25 Thread Andreas Schäfer
Dear Cristian,

we always appreciate contributors so you're most welcome to aid with
the development of any of our projects (e.g. HPX and LibGeoDecomp).
independently from GSoC.

Kind regards
-Andreas

Re: [hpx-users] Newtonian physics sandbox proposal draft

2016-03-25 Thread Andreas Schäfer
Dear Kuo Lu,

thanks, I think this is a well and clearly written example.

WRT to the schedule and milestones: you should describe in more detail
how you plan to implement the simulation model (i.e. which primitives
are to be simulated (spheres, tetrahedrons, composites...) and how
they interact). In the schedule you should clarify what the tasks and
what the deliverables are (e.g. task: study force-based n-body
algorithm, deliverable: pseudo code for model implementation). This is
important for us so we get a better idea of how well you've understood
the project at hands.

Your background info is very convincing. Do you have any code examples
online (for instance on GitHub)? That's by no means necessary, but
would be the icing on the cake.

Kind regards
-Andreas

Dear Aleksandr,

thanks for updating your proposal, you did really improve the content.
You might want to spend a couple of minutes on the style and layout so
the structure of the proposal (e.g. the list of classes and methods)
becomes more legible.

Thanks!
-Andreas

[hpx-users] GSOC 2016 project proposal

2016-03-25 Thread Shashidhar G
Hi everyone,

I am Shashidhar G, M.S. Research Scholar at Indian Institute of
Technology Madras working in the area of Program
Analysis and Compiling for Parallelization. I have been working in
Automatic code generation of graph algorithms on GPU's from a Domain
Specific language.

I have submitted my proposal for "Work on parallel algorithms for HPX
"
for GSOC 2016. I have seen the discussions in the mailing list about this
project and the reference pages related to HPX. I did not had time for a
introduction through the mailing list or through the IRC. So, i am doing it
now.

I am new to HPX community. Since i work in the area of Compiling for
Parallelization i got interested in the set of projects that HPX community
has posted.

I have shared my proposal here

if someone wants to take a look at it. Although i cannot change the
proposal, i would love to get your feedback.

Thanks and regards,
Shashidhar
