[Hugin-devs] [Bug 2028086] Re: MacOS build patches
[Expired for Hugin because there has been no activity for 60 days.] ** Changed in: hugin Status: Incomplete => Expired -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Hugin Developers, which is subscribed to Hugin. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2028086 Title: MacOS build patches Status in Hugin: Expired Bug description: Attached below are the build file patches that I used to compile version hugin-2022.0.0 to create a MacOS dmg that runs on MacOS v.10.12.6 thru Monterey (I think?). One thing to note is that if you have libjpeg-turbo installed, it will be pickup first and your build will fault with an exception in anything that uses jpeg routines. It boils down to a versioning issue in the libjpeg-turbo header (it reports version 8) and the jpeg routines in this build process (needs something other than reporting version 8). So rename the libjpeg-turbo headers and it will be fine. The label suggests that only a downscale is performed, while it seems that an upscale is done. I set a 100% value, and with 4 images of about 5400x3700 I got a final pano of about 1x1, while I should have a got a pano with max size of 5400x5400 Besides that, the "Downscale final pano" doesn't belong, logically speaking, to "auto align" group, as the graphics suggest. Besides that, the label "percent of max. width" is confusing, because images have width and height, and then a "maximum width" doesn't make sense, I'd suggest "maximum size" To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/hugin/+bug/1958027/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~hugin-devs Post to : hugin-devs@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~hugin-devs More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

Status in Hugin: Expired Bug description: I was stitching images and everything was going fine with Panorama Preview, when suddenly I started getting error dialogs instead of a preview: Could not stitch preview. Error: Precondition violation! BasicImage::upperLeft(): image must have non-zero size. (/Users/niklas/development/release/hugin/mac/ExternalPrograms/repository/include/vigra/basicimage.hxx:928) One cause could be an invalid or missing image file. I tried reopening the file, upgrading from the 2016 version to 2019.0.0.a369cbe55179 (Mac), removing images and nothing helped. Comparing with a working file, I found a workaround. I edited my .pto file and changed line #3: p f2 w3000 h1 v23 E2.30282 R0 n"TIFF_m c:LZW r:CROP" I changed "h1" to "h261" and the project then worked fine. Changing back to "h1" repeatably caused the problem to happen. My guess is that Hugin doesn't like a horizontal size of 1 and this triggers the precondition violation. I don't know what specifically triggered this problem; I was clicking "center" and "fit" on Panorama Preview when things went bad. The symptoms are similar to bug 679273, but I was not using stereographic projection. There's probably not enough information here to fix the bug. I'm mainly filing this so the workaround will show up if anyone else encounters the problem. [Hugin-devs] [Bug 1301922] Re: Fast panorama editor very cumbersome to use
[Expired for Hugin because there has been no activity for 60 days.] ** Changed in: hugin Status: Incomplete => Expired -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Hugin Developers, which is subscribed to Hugin. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1301922 Title: Fast panorama editor very cumbersome to use Status in Hugin: Expired Bug description: I want to suggest a few changes to the Fast Panorama Editor's interface which will vastly improve usability and shorten time spent working in it. Some parts of Hugin today in 2014 look like they've been designed either many years ago and bits and pieces were kept being added on without much concern for the overall appearance, or like it was designed to run on a small-screen phone. Luckily this can all be quickly fixed without much coding, just rearranging existing things. Currently there are six tabs in the Fast Panorama Editor, and clicking through them is a waste of time. Let's fix this: Assistant: input image control (projection, focal, sensor scale multiplier) Preview: a bunch of preview settings. Layout: it's a whole tab when in fact it is exactly one slider. A whole tab for a slider! Projection: output image control (projection, FOV, guides). Move/Drag: synonyms in the tab's name, y/p/r, again guides, center/fit/straighten. Crop: manual, auto, again guides. AT THE VERY LEAST let us move the images from the same tab we can change projection and crop from! To properly fix this, delete the tabs, they're a bad idea, they waste screen space like crazy, and merge things. Unified Fast Panorama Editor (UFPE). Consists of three main elements: the image control panels (two of them, one for input, one for output), the preview, and the preview controls. The first element, input/output image controls. Two panels (frames? not sure of the nomenclature in QT) at the top or on the left of the UFPE (depends on your screen aspect ratio, let them float so the user can choose), keep things small, don't waste space. First panel is your source image panel: [+] to load images (no need for a 100 pixel long button!), [-] to remove currently selected image (click on it on the preview to select it). Source image projection selector combobox. Source image focal inputbox. Source image sensor size multiplier inputbox. Second panel is your output image panel: Projection selector combobox. Projection parameters if any are needed (sliders for e.g. Panini) [Straighten] button. Yaw/pitch/roll numerical inputboxes of currently selected image or whole pano if none selected. Crop sub-panel [Fit inside] auto-crop button (i.e. no black edges). [Fit outside] auto-crop button (i.e. with black edges). Crop numerical inputboxes. Second element, the main panorama preview. Click on an image to select it. Click+drag to... drag it. Right-click for a context menu if needed. ZOOM IN/OUT USING THE MOUSE; using the sliders as is currently needed is highly inefficient :] Add [+][-] buttons Third element, at the bottom of the window, is the preview control: Exposure, photometrics, show CPs, identify, blabla, guides, grid, scale. Everything on one screen, everything fits even on 1024x768, panels can be detached and floated. Less than a day's work for someone familiar with that window, because there is not much code to be written, just a bunch of things to be moved and a whole bunch of code to delete. The panosphere stays in the lower left corner of the screen while the empty overview window can be dragged around. It will stay on top of every other hugin window and eventually hides the panosphere. Zooming the window (i.e. dragging the bottom right corner) also zooms the seperated content. [Hugin-devs] [Bug 1414134] Re: Hugin should remember last used destination folder
[Expired for Hugin because there has been no activity for 60 days.] ** Changed in: hugin Status: Incomplete = Expired -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Hugin Developers, which is subscribed to Hugin. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1414134 Title: Hugin should remember last used destination folder Status in Hugin - Panorama Tools GUI: Expired Bug description: In one instance of Hugin I add an equirectangular image, reproject it to linear and render it to a folder, say /home/bob/photos/panoramas/foo Then I delete that image, add a new one, reproject it, render to /home/bob/photos/panoramas/foo I use hugin_stitch_project so that I don't have to do the annoying and of no use to me step of saving the project. The problem is that I need to go to /home/bob/photos/panoramas/foo every time I click Stitch!. Hugin should remember the last-used folder - it does not. The default output prefix in Preferences is %projectname but seeing as I did not save the project, the last-used folder should be remembered. So one solution is for Hugin to remember the last-used folder when the project has not been saved. Another solution is for a %lastused option to be added to the default output prefixes. I have a set of bracketed shots (0,-1EV, +1EV), When loaded into hugin, hugin detects that there is varying exposure but can't find any stacks. If a subset of these images are downscaled (from 4828x3264 to 2000x1325) and loaded into hugin stacks are automatically detected correctly. A check of the exif data using exiftool and exiv2 suggests that there has been no change to the exif data, or none that I have noticed. Is this a bug, or simply a result of hugin having a different number of images to decide on whether there are stacks? I have extracted the thumbs and with the exif data for the original images as well as the downsized images and these are attached. I pressed the Load Images... button (within the Assistant tab). I proceeded to select some images and pressed the Open button. Hugin then crashed; that is, Windows 7 then displayed hugin.exe has stopped working. This problem is repeatable. Every time I start Hugin and try to select one or more images as above, it crashes. A few weeks ago, I had experienced the identical problem with version 2012.0.0 of Hugin on my Windows 8 64-bit laptop, but had written it off as a Windows 8 thing. I have successfully used previous versions of Hugin on other computers. One additional point ... I have not yet turned off tool tips, so I must naturally close the tool tip box before attempting to load the image(s). Only the tiny icon inside the button shows a very thin framing which is almost undistinguishable. Also the function title of the button is both written on the button as well as below the button. Please compare with the buttons in the Move/Drag tab. - Also in Fast Panorama preview Preview tab: button Grey picker has the same issue as the Identify button. - dragdrop images from Finder into Hugin still doesn't work on OS X, I'd at least expect it in the file list of the Photos tab (Advanced/Expert mode) or in the Assistant tab of the Simple mode - Main window Control Points tab: I remember shortcuts for Zoom (100%: cmd+1; fill frame: cmd+0). This doesn't work now. - Also other shortcuts mentioned in help/Hugin_Keyboard_shortcuts.html don't work as expected: cmd+N /O / S work in the main window (when in Advanced or Expert mode) but not in Fast Preview I hope this makes some sense. I cannot kill it except by using task manager (end process of PTBatcherGUI). I am stitching 16-bit tiffs produced by Canon DPP. When I start the batch process, the batch window opens on top of Hugin, then the current task opens a status/progress window on top of that, and the tiff library warning box (labelled Hugin warning) appears on top of that again. The warning details just say Tiff ReadDirectory many times over. If I dismiss the tiff warning then it seems to work as expected. If I just watch it, then when the stitch is finished, the status/progress window and tiff warning both disappear but the PTBatcherGUI can never regain focus. The tiff warning does not just get hidden under other windows, it disappears - as the problem remains if I resize/move them to different parts of the screen. However, when moving a project up or down in the list with the buttons on the right-hand side it only works once. You select a project and move it up or down, but then 2 projects (lines) are suddenly selected. The one that was selected and the one with which it has been exchanged. Upon selecting a new project (line) that line gets selected but nothing happens. From now on no single project can't be moved or deleted anymore. When sliding them, the image appears to follow the new settings, but then snaps back to its previoius setting without changing the values for the field of view in the Stitcher tab. Changing them manually in the Stitcher tab does, however, correctly change the image. If it matters, I'm seeing this under stereographic mapping. Also, under stereographic mapping the vertical slider has been non- functional for some time. It should be controlling the vertical field of view (and consequently the image height). This used to work some time ago, as I used this feature regularly. Interestingly, dragging with the third mouse button instead works and rotates the image. Applying the raw/pitch manually also works. This seems to be a problem with dragging with the first mouse button only. - It does not seem to be a local misconfiguration of hugin, since moving ~/.hugin away did not fix issues. Ok, I tried on another box, and 2011.4 works as expected. Literally no idea why. Could that be a GL driver bug? On this particular box I have an hd4000, whereas on the working machine I have an nvidia card. cu Andreas To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/hugin/+bug/1194578/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~hugin-devs Post to : hugin-devs@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~hugin-devs More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Hugin-devs] [Bug 1091740] Re: Hugin 2012.0.0 freezes on startup on Win7 64
[Expired for Hugin because there has been no activity for 60 days.] ** Changed in: hugin Status: Incomplete = Expired -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Hugin Developers, which is subscribed to Hugin. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1091740 Title: Hugin 2012.0.0 freezes on startup on Win7 64 Status in Hugin - Panorama Tools GUI: Expired Bug description: Hi, just downloaded the 64bit windows version of Hugin: http://sourceforge.net/projects/hugin/files/hugin/hugin-2012.0/Hugin_2012.0.0_64bit_Windows.7z/download I unpacked it and double clicked on hugin.exe. After a warning pop-up that it found some old settings somewhere (I am not aware of anything like this) the splash screen comes up. A couple of seconds later my whole system freezes like a window 95 box. Not even the mouse pointer can be moved any more. The splash window is still visible at that point in time. Haven't had that in a while. Need a hardware cold reset to restart the system, so not very funny. I had the exact same result with the 32bit version which I first installed. OS is windows 7 64bit Ultimate.
