Thanks for the file. The main cause for the crash was the big canvas size - this resulted in an overflow in the internal calculation. This is fixed in the repository and will be in 2021.0 rc1. I have only ever seen the saving of .pto files as part of the "3:Create Panorama" process, and it never occurred to me that one could do it before then by selecting "Save" from the "Fast Panorama preview" window menu until now... Please provide the pto file before pressing auto crop. The debug log does not really help further.
