[hugin-ptx] Attn translators: BugFix = added translation string, sorry.

2010-12-04 Thread Yuval Levy
Dear translators,

*THIS AFFECTS YOUR WORK, SORRY*

Thomas just fixed (at least partially) a bug that was causing an instant crash
in photometric optimization [0].

Unfortunately, for the fix to also look good, it requires translation of an
extra string. The string has been added to the repository for both default
and 2010.4.

If you have not yet started working on your translation, or if your work has
already been committed:

* get the latest language file as described in the translation guide [1]
* edit and submit your translations as usually

If you are in the middle of translating
* get the latest language file as described in the translation guide [1]
* use msgmerge [2] to merge to merge your edits into the new file
* continue your work

Sorry for the disruption
Yuv

[hugin-ptx] Stitching perfectly flat pictures (maps) together

2010-12-04 Thread Olivier Croquette
Hi all,

I have an usual task at hand, which is to stitch together small maps
into a bigger global map. There are many differences compared to
stitching photographs :
1. the source pictures (24) show no distortion
2. the orientation is not always the same (sometimes north is up,
sometimes it's to the right or the left)
3. the resulting picture shall not be distorted or projected
4. the pictures are of different sizes
5. the overlap is really narrow 5% or less, e.g. only the borders
match together
6. I would like to have the results tiled

Due to the small overlap, I have to create the control points
manually, I am OK with that, but I was wondering if Hugin can cope
with the other requirements. I guess for the 1. and 3., it's just a
matter of finding the rights parameters, but what are they ?

The background of requirement 6. is that the resulting map or
corresponding file will be too big, the idea is to tile it again in
regular pieces after the stitching.

Do you think Hugin can help me in this task ?

Thanks for your hints

Best regards

Olivier

Sorry if I haven't made myself clear - I'm not talking about ptgui,
but about hugin. The discussion I was referring to only inspired me to
take a closer look at cropping and masking in hugin.
