Ciao Matthieu.
Thanks for providing a recent build for OS X.
I did a quick test on OS X 10.9 (13A603) and it seems to work as expected, see

I'd be guessing a bit on this one, and probably shouldn't, so
hopefully someone who knows will give us the right story.

This is probably left-over from the older version of this tutorial:

Before the XYZ mosaic mode was added to Hugin, stitching scans had
to be done by optimising v,d,e 'lens parameters' separately for each
'photo' - i.e. each 'photo' had to have different 'lens parameters'.

With the XYZ mosaic mode you can leave the lens parameters alone and
optimise X,Y,Z - which does the same thing in this case, but is
better conceptually since there is no 'lens' involved in the first
place.

I have an issue with the way that Hugin calculates focal length: I have a
full frame sensor and the EXIF tab of the Stitcher shows the correct
focal length of 50mm. But at the bottom of that screen, under lens type,
my lens is shown as 38.601mm with a focal length multiplier of 1x. How
did that get calculated?

I think the only value that is of significance to Hugin is the horizontal
field of view, and that is an estimate only if the the images don't make
up a full 360 deg pano. So, for a lesser overall field of view, the
estimated lens fov gives a focal length, but I don't think it is used.

To use Dropbox, I think you have to go to their website and register, and
install the dropbox software.
Then you can put a file in your dropbox public dir, get a link to it, and
provide the link to whomever you want to have access to the file.

Have you had any success stitching any other set of images with this
version of Hugin?

Which version of Enblend are you using?

I see you are using Fedora 18.
You could try updating to the a prerelease version of Hugin 2013,
available here...

and see if that helps.

You have often advised new users to use hugin_stitch_project instead. That
is not helpful at all. This should be the last step, if all other solutions
don't work.
I advised the users some steps to try to solve the issue (because I think
in most cases it is a special configuration or the issue is behind the
keyboard.)
But with your advise to use hugin_stitch_project there was never a
substantial feedback to improve the behaviour of PTBatcherGUI.

You never used PTBatcherGUI and have therefore not contributed active to
its improvement as you always demand.

Thomas

PS: If you reduce PTBatcherGUI to a batch stitcher you have not leashed its
full power. It contains a lot more functions.

[hugin-ptx] A couple of questions

2013-11-04 Thread Michael Perry
Why does the flat-scanned stitching tutorial state that "You need to stop
Hugin from assuming that all the pictures were taken with the same camera"?
What is the reason for that - it can take a long time changing the notional
lens on each image
http://hugin.sourceforge.net/tutorials/scans/en.shtml

I have an issue with the way that Hugin calculates focal length: I have a

length of 50mm. But at the bottom of that screen, under lens type, my lens

Any thoughts would be appreciated
