[hugin-ptx] Re: How to debug failure to find control points

2015-09-09 Thread Tom Sharpless
Answer: run cpfind from the command line.
The failure here was not something anyone else has to worry about. I had
previously run another control point finder, that also generates keypoint
data files named .key. Hugins cpfind tried to load those, and
failed.

What distribution you have been using when experiencing this problem?
What hugin version, where did you get this version from?

Ubuntu has switched from wwidgets 2.8 to wxwidgets 3.0. In order to be
able to identify possible transition problems, the 3.0 version has been
compiled with all sorts of debug code enabled (and this may stay this
way, for all that I know). In the current 2015.0 iteration of hugin,
quite a bunch of these transitions problems have been caught and fixed,
so if you use a pre 2015.0 hugin version with wxwidgets 3.0, you are in
for a world of hurt. If you are using the current trunk version or the
2015.0 version with wxwidgets 3.0, your problem reports will help to
find problematic spots in the current hugin source code. But we need to
know what versions of hugin / wxwidgets you are experiencing the
problems with.

With kind regards

Stefan Peter

[hugin-ptx] Another odd CP related behavior in 2015.0.0

2015-09-09 Thread Tom Sharpless
When I paste control points into a pto file that has none, they seem to
function normally. But not all are displayed normally in the control
points tab.

In the case at hand, there are 4 unconnected groups of 6, 1, 6, 1 images.
The CPs of the 3rd group display normally; but those in the first group do
not. One image shows the correct CPs. the other shows just one CP, at an
arbitrary position, whose numerical label changes to match the one I click
on in the other image. Selecting a different image seems to swap behaviors
of the left and right panels.

[hugin-ptx] How to debug failure to find control points

2015-09-09 Thread Tom Sharpless
With all default settings, Hugin 2015.0.0 is not finding any CPs in a
certain set of images. The cpfind log window disappears before I can read
it and I am left with "Added 0 Control Points".

How to debug this?
