[hugin-ptx] edited pictures back to the compact camera...

2010-06-09 Thread luca vascon
And panoramas, of course!

Why?!
Because you can have a slideshow presentation using the cameras
video-out, because you can play with Nikon PJ1000 projector etc, etc.
And because it should not be SO difficult to do.
I personally tried to do it several ways.
The basic is that the directory tree and the image names have to
follow the design rules:
http://www.exif.org/dcf.PDF
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Design_...ra_File_system

Then I tried to upload reedited images all the ways around... even
copying back their original exif and thumbnails.

I tried to follow these steps and instructions, without success even
in installing the software!!
http://www.camerahacker.com/Forums/D...re_viewer.html
My coder skills are many hundred numbers BELOW zero.

Seems the trick is understanding that JPG does not mean anything but a
FAMILY of compression methods, and it is rare to find a software that
allows you more than one to use!!!

This does the job pretty good, but it is shareware, 20$... I'd prefer
to donate them to a free or open source project (hugin, irfanview,
gimp etc)
http://www.satsignal.eu/software/imaging.html#TVwriter
I suppose its "compatibility chart" refers only to single camera own
jpg renaming.
this does the job, free but it is limited in image size to 800x600
http://panasonic.net/avc/projector/download/p1sd.html

My main task is now to understand-to know the main HIDDEN SECRET
KNOWLEDGE around it, and if there is a way to do the trick with open
source or free software
:-)

Thanx in advance.

Luca.

2010-01-21 Thread luca vascon
Difficult, I'll never be on facebook.
I made an antisocial network called ASSBOOK, there is only me.
:-)
However, you can have perfect threaded mount on every camera, simply glueing
it on place (twin component glue) and you can script your camera as long as
it is a Canon.
I'd like DSRL to be scriptable, modifiable etc, too, although.
My D700, I'm starting to love after SIX MONTHS OF LEARNING CURVE (as painful
as osx) would benefit a 2 sops stepping for the bracketing, and a complete
tiding up ofmenus and controls. I could do a better use of ALL the controls
involving autofocus and flash, i.e.

Ok, please take all my religion war attempts with a big smile and laughing,
coz is the way I intend them.

[hugin-ptx] Re: Hugin on Ubuntu Jaunty

2009-05-03 Thread luca vascon

sigh...
:-(
I thank you a lot but I think I'm speaking a different language.
Not able even to understand what are the links you sent me or how to use them.
Even this time is too soon for me to migrate to Linux for anything but
using ubuntu out of the shelf.
I only wish a world without personal computers.
Ok, going back to xp and Ptgui.
Sorry, not geek enough.

[hugin-ptx] Re: Zone Alarm and Hugin.exe

trash zone alarm.
It only gave me problems.
The neatest solution to all problems was killing all windows drivers
about network hardware and using ONLY linux for internet.

[hugin-ptx] Re: New windows installer: 3652

2009-02-25 Thread luca vascon

As far the main problems with Hugin
1. finding out a compiled .exe to click and install mindlessy...
2. I could never ever stitch a circular fisheye image with it. So far
command line original Dersch software was more intuitive to me.
3. As soon as I'm setting down in new offices I'll take more care of
italian translation. Till now the new version has all the bad errors a
software translation can have.
Translating software is a delicate process, and takes time and some
revisions. It can't be done in an hurry or in some days. Now is
unconsistant and confusing, I far prefer using it in English.
Logo.
I can't find my originals any more. Other time will be dedicated in
rebuilding an SVG version (thanx inkscape!!!)

Another thing.
A last build alpha repository for UBUNTU linux?!?!
Gnome, KDE, WHAT
After office moving and website building I can help hosting the files.

Download page in hugin website for snapshots need UPDATING,
explanations and things...
I'm always lost.

To apply, we need to indicate who our mentors will be. If *you* can
spare 5 hours per week in June/July/August with spikes earlier on, and
would be willing to mentor a student, please contact me.

Like in the previous years, we'll have for each student a primary mentor
responsible for the whole project and secondary mentors to help around.

 Any help is appreciated.
