Thanks Bruno. It worked for me. It is also super easy and fast way of doing
it. I cant believe that it can se so easy to do it :))

 Thanks again.

Re: [hugin-ptx] Can't do sterographic projection: excessive overlap detected and other problems

2011-09-10 Thread Bruno Postle
Hugin only uses the 'crop factor' and 'focal length' to calculate the 'angle
of view', so you can just ignore these parameters and enter 360 degrees for
the angle of view directly.

Hugin could be more helpful here, it should just assume any 2:1 ratio image
is a 360 degree equirectangular.

Re: [hugin-ptx] Can't do sterographic projection: excessive overlap detected and other problems

2011-09-09 Thread Emad ud din Bhatt
Bruno, what will be lens parameters?

Lens type = Equirectangular?
Focal length =?
crop factor =?

When I load a stitched equirect into hugin and choose lens type
equirectangular it shows only a very small square.

You can't create 360° stereographic images, this would require an
infinitely large canvas:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stereographic_projection

- I am having a problem that is already described in the FAQ -
unfortunately the FAQ's workaround doesn't work.
When trying to stitch pictures into a stereographic image, I sometimes
get error messages like

The FAQ recommends stitching your spherical panorama to
equirectangular format, you can then load this image into a new
single-photo Hugin project and create whatever stereographic views
you like (though don't expect these to be 360° wide).

- Sometimes hugin calculates absurd large canvas sizes like 7750816 x
7598388

This isn't absurd, this is the image size you need to render the
field of view you specified at full resolution.

[hugin-ptx] Can't do sterographic projection: excessive overlap detected and other problems

2011-09-08 Thread Hadmut
Hi,

while trying to generate „little planet” panoramas (i.e. 360 degree,
stereographic, pitch set to 90degree) I ran into several problems, I'd
like to mention. I am using hugin 2011.0.0 (ubuntu).

- I am having a problem that is already described in the FAQ -
unfortunately the FAQ's workaround doesn't work.
When trying to stitch pictures into a stereographic image, I sometimes
get error messages like

enblend: excessive overlap detected; remove one of the images
enblend: info: remove invalid output image "DSC_8500-DSC_8529.tif"
make: *** [DSC_8500-DSC_8529.tif] Error 1

Setting the options recommended in the FAQ (exposure fusing) does not
change things or makes them worse, subprograms complain about missing
parameters.

- if at all, it works only as long as I do not use all tiles for a 360
degree panorama. hugin seems to have several problems once the 360
degree panorama is complete, e.g. showing a degenerated preview.

- Sometimes hugin calculates absurd large canvas sizes like 7750816 x
7598388

- When I enter canvas size manually, hugin sometimes puts a way too
small panoramic image into it.

- I am under the impression that hugin cannot deal correctly with
changing the projection mode through the user interface, as if several
projections would modify each other's parameters.

Although hugin seems to be a high quality tool for regular (i.e.
rectilinear) panoramas, it seems to have several problems with other
projections, especially stereographic.

regards
Hadmut
