ok with me

I'm alright with it too.

Since such a thing could be obtained by scraping the posts,
it doesn't release any information that's not already out there.

So it's (IMHO) a non question, privacy wise.

the same use case as there is to search the list archives or read the FAQ
before asking questions.

+1.

not publish stuff unless necessary is closed source mentality.

share unless there is an obvious reason not to is open source.

the list of subscribers does not disclose email addresses (which would be an
obvious reason not to share) nor affects privacy in any other significant way.
It does disclose for how long a member has been on the list and what his role
is - important public information IMHO.

Why, is there a benefit? I do not get what use case there is for
browsing a list of mailing list subscribers.

The list is a community. We also have some history with another
panorama software list where a moderator abused their position by
keeping things like this secret.

I am not strongly opposed, if you think it is for the best do it.
There is just a gut feeling telling me to not publish stuff unless
necessary.

I'm inclined to share everything unless there is an obvious reason

There is just a gut feeling telling me to not publish stuff unless
