An open source memorization tool. Re: [IAEP] Anki - open source memorization tool.
I particularly like the ability to download existing decks. This would be a good thing for Sugar/XOs. BTW, it would be cool if someone could visually unify the look of our linkbar across the main services. We have a lot of choice of different styles: http://wiki.sugarlabs.org/ http://people.sugarlabs.org/ http://download.sugarlabs.org/ http://bugs.sugarlabs.org/ http://activities.sugarlabs.org/ http://www.sugarlabs.org/ http://git.sugarlabs.org/ http://planet.sugarlabs.org/ http://translate.sugarlabs.org/ http://buildbot.sugarlabs.org/ http://lists.sugarlabs.org/ (missing the linkbar) http://api.sugarlabs.org/ (missing the linkbar) (forgot anything?) I'd like our linkbar to be: (1) consistent in style across all webapps (maybe also in content) (2) reminiscent of Sugar's UI elements or colors (3) in harmony with the look of all our sites (4) maybe well detached from the rest of the page (like the gnome one) (5) written in very tidy html + css for easily maintainability (6) free of frames/iframes, marquees and non-standard html crap (7) perfectly readable in text-only browsers, even without css (8) ordered the same way across all sites (= easy to memorize) (9) wrapping nicely on small screens These are just my personal wishes, not strict requirements. Since Josh did such an amazing job with aslo's styling, I'd be tempted to give him full autonomy on taking care for our appearance everywhere else. I did download.sugarlabs.org imitating Google's linkbar. Then I tried something fancier for people.sugarlabs.org. I like the idea, but not the look of my own implementation. Luke told me that he fancied the Gnome linkbar, which is identical to our buildbot's linkbar. Also fine with me. Yes, there's really *plenty* of room for improvement and plenty of work to do, but I'd start from the most visible things: aslo, wiki, planet, git, bugs... the others can wait a bit longer... or maybe forever. -- // Bernie Innocenti - http://codewiz.org/ \X/ Sugar Labs - http://sugarlabs.org/ ___ IAEP -- It's An Education Project (not a laptop project!)
