[IAEP] Yama no longer candidate Re: [ANNOUNCE] Oversight Board Election has begun
Dear all, I am currently with a less than ideal connection, I wish I would have removed myself from the list of candidates before the election got going, my apologies. I do still care deeply about the user experience of those who have been given Sugar as their interface, and wish that real world needs, especially the teacher's, will be prioritized, but I rather let others do the oversight for it. Thank you. Yama 2012/12/21 Luke Faraone l...@sugarlabs.org Hi all, We have 6 candidates[1] for the Oversight Board election. Four seats are open for election this term. The election will finish at December 27, 2012 at 23:59. The candidates are: * Adam Holt * Gonzalo Odiard * Claudia Urrea * Sebastian Silva * Yama Ploskonka * S. Daniel Francis I encourage each Member to review the candidates' platforms in preparation for the coming election. Ballots will have been mailed by the time this email is sent. Individuals interested participating in next year's election should apply for membership[2]. NOTE: This election is being conducted via the Condorcet Internet Voting Service[3], operated by an independant third party. This is different from what was done in previous elections, and a departure from what was mentioned in the election announcement[4] due to concerns about Selectricity's reliability. I am curious about sources for the book - are those freely and openly available too? It seems you do not mention source location, neither at the web page nor inside the PDF. The final URL in the pdf - http://software.booki.cc - seems to not work. Re: [IAEP] It's a book!
This is really exciting. Thank you so much to the Education team. What a fantastic Christmas present to the world. It joins a big family of Booki free books for Sugar. If you mean the book itself, it looks like there is a little problem with the link on this page: http://en.flossmanuals.net/ bad link http://en.flossmanuals.net/learning-with-etoys-imagine-invent-inspire/ The link seems to be fixed now (at least it works for me.) I am involved in Debian, where we go by a principle that code and documentation must be Free not only in its binary (i.e. consumer) form but also its source. It is not satisfactory that some kind of source can be derived from the binary (e.g. reverse engineering, screen-scraping etc.) but that the preferred source format of the authors is made available. By no means to I mean to impose this principle must apply to this book. But I am curious _if_ it does apply, because then I have the opportunity of getting the book included with Debian, and that way also included with Skolelinux, which I am sure would be quite appreciated and used. Hope that makes sense. Yes its free and we would love to see the book and Etoys n Skolelinux. The beauty of Etoys is all the source is available and you can look at it and modify it right inside Etoys.
