[IAEP] Persistance For Downloaded Activities: How To???

2013-04-24 Thread Caryl Bigenho
Hi Folks,
I am customizing some XO-1s for an elementary school. When I download extra
Activities, how do I get them to persist without having to keep them in the
Journal? For some reason, one machine does this. The Activities remain even
when the Journal in empty. For others, they disappear if removed from the
Journal. I must have done something right for the one where they persist, but
can't find info anywhere to make it happen with the others.
BTW... on the old builds that I am reflashing from, the XO mesh network worked
without them having to be connected to the internet. Now I am installing 883
and the icons no longer appear in the neighborhood view... until I connect them
to the access point. With which older builds did the mesh work independently
for the XO-1s? Does it with any of the newer builds?
Thanks,Caryl ___

This doesn't happen for me with 883. I opened Browse, clicked on
Activities, searched for IRC, clicked download. When it had finished,
I went to the journal and the IRC activity was there. The IRC
activity was also in the home view. I used Erase in the journal, and
the IRC activity remained in the home view.

Are these the steps you used?

This doesn't happen for me with 883. The mesh icons are in the
neighbourhood view immediately after boot. I did not need to connect
to an access point first. I hadn't already picked an access point, so
one of the mesh icons automatically started.

If you use 883 on an XO-1.5, then the mesh icons won't appear.
