My Client is a Consultancy based in Dubai and require a Core Analyst. The candidate will be required to : Engage in core description, sequence stratigraphic and reservoir characterization studies Will be required to work within multi-disciplinary teams to provide sedimentologic and stratigraphic support for active programs in exploration and reservoir exploitation of carbonate reservoirs. Take a leadership role in defining approaches to applied problems and to leading longer-term technology programs in sedimentology, sequence stratigraphy, and diagenesis. Have an understanding of controls on reservoir quality, assessment of the 3D distribution of reservoir facies, evaluation of rock properties and the integration of petrographic and wireline log data would be expected. Development of depositional models and reservoir stratigraphy - with emphasis on identifying and understanding later diagenetic modifications that may have affected final reservoir quality - that will be utilized as input to 3D geocellular models are required. Applicant would be expected to bring state of the art approaches to applied stratigraphic reservoir problems. Perform formation evaluation studies by integrating available wireline logs, borehole image and core data and supplemental information. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: MS Geology (Carbonate emphasis). Over 5 Years experience. Candidate should have appropriate educational background in applied carbonate sedimentology and/or sequence stratigraphic of carbonate strata. Extensive experience in outcrop and core descriptions, sequence stratigraphic, thin section petrography, and other rock-based methodologies for the characterization of carbonate reservoirs is required. A background in development geology and reservoir characterization is a must. Applicant should be familiar with wireline logs and the integration of rock-based observations with log data. Experience in oil industry practices and experience with Middle East reservoirs is desired but not necessary.
