---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Muharram J. Panguriseng <muhar...@pertamina-ep.com> Course Title : 4D Microgravity Survey for HC Reservoir Monitoring, Case Example : Sandstone and Carbonate Reservoir Dates : 3rd – 6th March 2008 (4 days course) Venue : Novotel Hotel, Bandung Instructor : Dr. Wawan Gunawan A.K., M.Sc.*, Dr. Ir. Eko Widianto, M.T. ** (*ITB, **Pertamina) Course Fee : USD 1,650 (HAGI Member) USD 1,750 (Non-HAGI Member ) (Including hotel 5 nights 6 days, Coffee break & Lunch, Course Material, Course Kit, Certificate) COURSE OVERVIEW Relating with science and technology improvement in which resolution of geophysical data measurement become higher, there is paradigm shift in geophysical method from 2D or 3D survey to 4D survey in order to monitor reservoir hydrocarbon. In gravity method, the existence of very significant improvement in gravimeter technology in which repeatability reach around 0.005 µGal, and processing as well, the 4D microgravity has became a promising method to identify the fluid movement in the reservoir along production and injection activities. And finally it will support better understanding of the reservoir. This Course is designed for geo-scientist who wishes to expand their understanding of significant techniques and developments in 4D Microgravity. This enhanced understanding is vital for field development process. Participants will learn about : • Basic concept of gravity (2D/3D) and 4D microgravity anomalies in relation with the existence of geological structure and fluid flow in reservoir. • 4D Microgravity data acquisition and processing with emphasis on the impact of interpretation and pitfall. • Geological structure response in 4D Microgravity anomaly. • Interpretation techniques of 4D Microgravity data relating with reservoir behavior: Density Contrast change, apparent saturation, geological structure (fault) and fluid – front ( movement). • Overview on the use of 4D Microgravity survey for water injection and production activities in Single (Carbonate) and Multi (Sand Stone) layers reservoir. The Course comprises of approximately 60% theory and 40% workshop, in-which 90% of the Problem-set packages are Indonesia cases. COURSE OUTLINE Day 1 : What is gravity method ?, Bouguer gravity anomaly (2D/3D gravity surveys), 4D microgravity and fluid movement in the reservoir, Time-lapse microgravity anomaly, Source of time-lapse microgravity anomaly Day 2 : Simulation of time-lapse microgravity anomaly, Equipments and Data acquisition 1, Data acquisition 2 and time-lapse microgravity calculation Day 3 : Interpretation of time-lapse microgravity anomaly using Deconvolution technique, Interpretation of time-lapse microgravity anomaly using inversion technique, Interpretation using forward modeling, Interpretation using correlation technique. Day 4 : Workshop, Case Study ABOUT THE INSTRUCTORS Dr. Wawan Gunawan A.Kadir, M.Sc., received his BS from Gajah Mada University in 1985 and received his MSc in Geophysics - Gajah Mada University from 1987-1990, he got his Ph.D in Applied Geophysics from Institut Teknologi Bandung in 1996. He is currently an Associate Professor of Geophysical Engineering and Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, Faculty of Mining and Petroleum Engineering – ITB. He conducted some courses in Gravity survey for HC Reservoir since 2002 and the last view years his research and study interest in 4D Microgravity Survey for HC Reservoir monitoring also for Gravity and Magnetic study. He is a member of HAGI ( Indonesian Association of Geophysicist), SEG ( Society of Exploration Geophysicist), AAPG and IAGI. Dr. Ir. Eko Widianto, M.T., received his BS of Geology from Gadjah Mada University in 1982, received his M.T. in Applied Geophysics from Institut Teknologi Bandung in 2000 and he got his Ph.D in Applied Geophysics from Institut Teknologi Bandung in 2008. He is working for PERTAMINA since 1982 and currently as Geophysical Specialist of Pertamina EP Technology Center. He is also the lecturer of Geology Department of Trisakti University and Geophysical Engineering Department of Bandung Institute of Technology. He is a member of HAGI ( Indonesian Association of Geophysicist), SEG (Society of Exploration Geophysicist) and IAGI.
