ISPF temp allocation during job suibmission
I have a user who reported a problem when ISPF went to create a temp data set during the batch job submission. It appears that ISPF or the system tried to allocate the file on a volume the user did not have authority to use. We use TOP SECRET (TSS) from CA as our security package. This problem occurred over multiple TSO sessions. So I am thinking there is something a miss in the definition of the TSO userid? Any thoughts on where to look? -- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to lists...@bama.ua.edu with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
Moving away from CA-PDSMAN
We are trying to move away from CA-PDSMAN. One feature that our few remaining users like, is the Easyedit feature of a list files that the user commonly edits. Has anyone else moved away from PDSMAN and how did you handle that feature? Is there REXX exec out there that will save a list of commonly edited files (some files are likely under different high level indexes) and store that list over different TSO sessions? Xerox printers /$DJDE commands
Our printer guy is gone until after Christmas and we only have maintenance on our Xerox DP75 printers on a billable basis as needed. I am looking for anyone familiar with Xerox printers/$DJDE commands and how to tell the printer to pull a sheet of paper from a different tray for a banner from CA-Deliver. We have output that when printed, is no longer pull a sheet of different paper from a different tray in the printer. The CA-Deliver banner does contain a few $DJDE commands. Please reply to me directly at weaver...@osu.edu and if possible give your office telephone number and day/time available for a call. Thanks in advance. Sites running CA-SYSVIEW release 12.
We are having a problem when in CA-SYSVIEW, then entering the ISPF jump key character '=' (equal sign) in combination with the TSO/ISPF command separator character ';' (semicolon) example given =ze;2 which results in ISPF going to the primary options menu rather than the application Ze (for us it is the job scheduling package Zeke). I am looking one or more sites that are running CA-SYSVIEW release 12 and might still have CA-SYSVIEW 11.6 laying around. Could you please contact me off the list at weaver...@osu.edu. ISPF 3.4
We recently went from zOS 1.3 to zos 1.7. We have noticed that ISPF 3.4 vtoc statistics are not reporting accurately the space usage on data sets. Has anyone else seen this? Fwd: Re: PAnel 3.4 vtoc statistics
FYI... This took care of our problem locally. The data for %used in panels 3.2 and 3.8 were reporting incorrect information. Possibly due to use of mod-9's and mod-27's. Duane Hello Duane, If you are getting weird '%used' stats in 3.2/3.4 display, check out PTF UA22316 Regards, Tony -Original Message- From: Duane Weaver [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: 10 July 2006 15:06 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: PAnel 3.4 vtoc statistics We recently went from zOS 1.3 to zos 1.7. ZERO QMPA pointer
We presently have zOS1.7 in test under VM here. We made a copy of the system volumes for use on another mainframe also running VM. TSO and SYS1.UADS
I have a need to build a small zOS utility system. There are no plans to put our security package on this utility system. There will be no real data on this system to be concerned about. So my question is: How does TSO know to use SYS1.UADS? z/OS 1.7 and beyond
Someone just asked about last order date for z/OS 1.7, which just went GA. For those of you who did not attend SHARE, it was announced that IBM is now on a version a year schedule. IBM is planning 1.8 for fall of 2006, and so on.
