Jobname for DFHSM Requests
***Suggestion Please*** We work in 12 way sysplex/hsmplex and sometime following a bad tape hsm requests get build up now before we do tape replace with alternate These all recall request should be killed which we get from HSEND Q REQ and then start killing them on basis of owner id .However as far as it's under the TSO owner or some single job owner request can easily be understood from where it coming to cancel However at certain situation when there are multiple/number of jobs running under the same Owner(for example under CA7/TWS) we stuck since we know the Owner id but doesn't know the jobname associated with recall request so that we know if we kill some request which job will go down or which job we should cancel before cancelling recall request.. Does below info help? This information is recorded in the form of a number of different records, which are numbered. Installations can process the SMF records with any number of application programs to analyze the data, produce reports, etc.Two SMF records (types 26 and 57) are recorded by JES3 that contain network-related information. The type 26 record is produced at job termination time and contains various job summary information. The type 57 record is produced for each transmitted job (or SYSOUT) after successful transmission and contains summary and resource usage information related to the network processing of the job. There are no records produced in JES3 that record information of a network management nature. -- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to lists...@bama.ua.edu with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html

Re: Status Difference Between JES2 and SDSF
It can be what you saying and I see some improvement is happening with z/OS 1.12.. share remarks (boston) --- z/OS 1.12 JES2 added support to place the SPOOL and Checkpoint data sets in EAS storage (above the 64K cylinder line). It also added a new SSI to retrieve printer status information. There were also a number of serviceability(RAS) changes that will be discussed. New in this release is an SSI (83 with SSOB extension IAZSSJD) to obtain information on local and remote printers. This information is available on z/OS 1.12 from any z/OS 1.11 MAS member and later. Only local and remote printer are currently supported via the SSI (though the IAZSSJVD data area does define additional devices). The information is provided via a data gather code that was shipped in z/OS 1.11. To fully support requests from z/OS 1.12, you must apply the data gatherer APARs OA31703 and OA32712 on your z/OS 1.11 system. These APARs are a pre-req for the JES2 toleration APAR OA28532. The initiator subfunction of the JES property SSI was enhanced to support requesting information from other members. This requires the target member to be running z/OS 1.12. SYSOUT ENF processing was enhanced to support requesting ENFs for data sets select by SAPI. This is useful if a SAPI application is requesting SYSOUT information and returning it for later processing but still wants to track the status of the data set. -- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to lists...@bama.ua.edu with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
Re: Restoring DFSMShsm migrated data set without active DFHSM?
I have no idea why you got this requirement anyway it's a dfhsm recovery scenario and look like needed help from ibm.you might be needed to enable patches etc which are recommended by IBM...Like below manual does have some dfhsm recovery scenario.. http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/zos/v1r9/index.jsp? topic=/com.ibm.zos.r9.idas200/hr1024.htm On the other hand question goes did you try with the recover option from backup since it's a ml2 there should be a backup copy created as well and if so look in the above manual there's a way to recover dataset from the dfdss backup...interesting question nevertheless. -- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to lists...@bama.ua.edu with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
Re: We can't delete a cataloged dataset
Please run the DELETE NOSCRATCH in batch job and post the output...I see no reason why it should not delete dataset from catalog when you specify noscratch... -- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to lists...@bama.ua.edu with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
Re: SMP/E CSI record layout
Why you looking for the record layout of Target CSI ? Just bit curious .. anyway other question I have is in what situation you see hex 070300 before zone name since I did print of records for target zone and they all appear to have 010300 ...thanks,Ravi -- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to lists...@bama.ua.edu with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
NJE Nodes communication b/w RACF CA-Top secret
Got a question ...we have nodes define in NJE over TCPIP both with JES2 however one of the node is with security manager as RACF while other as CA Top secret and hence we get following if job is routed from RACF defined node to CA-Top secret defined node. 18.34.25 JOB72383 MONDAY,03 JAN 2011 18.34.25 JOB72383 TSS7145E Accessor ID NBKE Not Defined to Security $HASP106 JOB DELETED BY JES2 OR CANCELLED BY OPERATOR BEFORE EXECUTION Do we have some document reference which says it's not possible to run jobs between incompatible security manager nodes? or any manual which can help to customize it? Should raise it with IBM as a question? -- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to lists...@bama.ua.edu with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
Automatic SVCDUMP Dataset space allocation -Query
Today when one of the team(batch) pointed me out that vendor has come with saying that they don't have complete dump and Batch requested to make the changes in the automatic dump capturing process I had to go back again for process and could not figure out where and how the space is getting allocated for these datasets... Here's my observation while doing investigation :- 1. Status of our dump dataset IEE852I 02.13.47 SYS1.DUMP STATUS 026 SYS1.DUMP DATA SETS AVAILABLE=002 AND FULL=000 CAPTURED DUMPS=, SPACE USED=M, SPACE FREE=5000M AUTOMATIC ALLOCATION IS: ACTIVE AVAILABLE SMS CLASSES: (DATA=DCEXTSP,MGMT=,STOR=) NO DASD VOLUMES DEFINED NAME=SYS7A.DUMP.SSYSNAME..DLDATE..TLTIME..NSEQ EXAMPLE=SYS7A.DUMP.S1X01.D100714.T021347.N0 SYS1.DUMP AVAILABLE DASD DATA SETS : 10-11 Shows the dataclass=DCEXTSP which I thought responsible for allocating Primary and secondary space ..However that's not true since these are not defined in our environment. I presumed since dataclass=dcextdmp point to storage group SGDUMP which is having 4 volume defined ..my SVCDUMP dataset would try to extend to all these 4 volumes and acquire all space ..However these all are 3390-3 model and I see our process of clearing the dump dataset is also pretty fast to avoid situation where volumes are filled as soon as other svcdump request kicked on.. Can someone point me out to the manual/redbook which talk about process of space allocation here... Also fyi ..i have seen for the message which says PARTIAL complete could not see that either.. -- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to lists...@bama.ua.edu with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
