Re: JES2 $DEBUPD macro
Have you found out anything more regarding the $DEBUPD macro? We are just starting our z/OS 1.13 upgrade and have a 3rd party software exit that also uses $DEBUPD (still waiting to hear back from the vendor). -- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to lists...@bama.ua.edu with the message: INFO IBM-MAIN
z/OS non-sms dasd allocation algorithm ?
Does anyone know how a dasd volume is selected for a new non-sms dataset allocation when using the UNIT parm? Is it just the first volume in the UNIT group that satisfies the space request or is some other algorithm used? Anyone know if this is documented anywhere (IBM manual)? z/OS 1.9 -- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to lists...@bama.ua.edu with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
Re: PK67193 and z/OS 1.9
I'm running z/OS 1.9 with the fixing PTF (UK38942) for PK67193 and it does not fix the problem with Filezilla and directory listings. I was told by IBM support that setting up FTP to use PAGENT (Policy agent) AT-TLS instead of it's own TLS support would fix the problem. Has anyone done this? Does it fix the problem with Filezilla? -- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
Re: PK67193 and z/OS 1.9
I got PAGENT running for AT-TLS on a test LPAR (z/OS 1.9). It works OK with other FTP clients I tried (Core, Bluezone, MoveItFreely, FileZilla 2) but doesn't work for any of the FileZilla 3 client versions I tried, including version 3.0.11.1 which worked before with the z/OS FTP server using it's own TLS support. -- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
2105-800 vs. DS6800
We are looking at replacing a 2105-800 (6 72.8GB 10K 8-packs, 8GB cache, 16 ESCON channels) with a DS6800 (32 146GB 15K drives, 4GB cache, 4 FICON channels) and also adding Metro Mirror to a second DS6800. This is mainframe (CKD) storage only running under z/OS on a z800 (2066-0x2). Has anyone done something similar? Did you have any problems with the install/migration? How does performance of the DS6800 compare to the 2105-800? How does full volume FLASHCOPY compare (48 volumes at a time)? Was there any impact (good or bad) on CPU utilization? So far, vendor references we have been given have been for sites using the DS6800 for open systems storage only. Any info you can provide would be greatly appreciated. -- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
DTS Software ACC, Beta Systems Beta-55 ?
Is anyone using either DTS Software's ACC (Alocation Control Center) or Beta System's Beta-55 product? Any information on user experiances with vendor and product (including product cost/maintenance) would be appreciated. -- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
