Hi!

Look at Application Performance Analyzer for z/OS
http://www-03.ibm.com/systems/z/os/zos/bkserv/zswpdf/#appl_perf_analyzer71

It is very useful, we have installed in our environment.

G'day All,

Please let me know if there is any equivalent of Strobe tool by IBM or
any other companyand which one is cheaper and better to purchase?
Also, please let me know if any of you know how much it would roughly
cost?

Can Strobe or similar other tools provide CPU/resource consumption
breakup paragraph wise (in COBOL programs) . or breakup for Database
calls ?

Thanks

Re: Update datasets defined in lnklst

2008-09-04 Thread Zafiropoulos Konstantinos
Hi all,

Working with Subsystem data sets: LNKLST
XCFAS holds a SYSDSN ENQ on the active LNKLST sets, which has to be
removed to change LNKLST sets. This is a sample procedure using the
SETPROG operator command:

SETPROG LNKLST,UNALLOCATE (unalloc from XCFAS)
P LLA
continue with the appropriate LNKLST set changes:
SETPROG LNKLST,DEFINE,NAME=LNKLST01,COPYFROM=LNKLST00
SETPROG LNKLST,DELETE,NAME=LNKLST01,DSNAME=...
SETPROG LNKLST,ACTIVATE,NAME=LNKLST01
SETPROG LNKLST,UPDATE,JOB=*
SETPROG LNKLST,ALLOCATE
S LLA,SUB=MSTR

Subject: Update datasets defined in lnklst

Hi,
If I am going to apply ptf to datasets that's in lnklst, after the
application, should I also refresh lnklst besides refreshing lla?
What I mean to refresh lnklst is to define new lnkst, copy current to new
one, activate it, then update job(*) using new defined/activated lnklst? Is
it necessay?
Is refreshing lla enough to let z/os to load modules that's updated during
mainanance correctly?

Is there a best practice?

Regards
Victor

How Many Jobcards in a JCL?

Hi all,

Here in my office there is a crazy DB2 admin who asks me every day the same
question. Instead of saying a good morning to me, he always asks me: What is
the max number of job cards in a JCL?

Please, what is the answer to the above question? I want to stop this guy
bugging me every morning...
