HUH?

I missed that shift... I must have been too busy still getting work
done with MVS:-)

Anyway some interesting sound bites.

Probably talking about number of companies using the various products.
I.e. at one time, all major and most smaller shops were IBM mainframe
shops. They'd run some derivative of OS/360 (VS1, MVS, ...) or DOS
(VSE). I never heard of the UNIX wave for commercial shops. Now, many
smaller shops are using Windows as their main computing platform (hope
they have GOOD firewalls and virus protection!). The avante garde
(again smaller shops) are now getting more into Linux.

Take that with the appropriate sized grain of salt, but more and more
things are going to start showing up on Linux. Ubiquity and cost are
good reasons to favor Linux as the server of choice for -managing- IT
resources. CCL is just the tip of the iceberg.

As Jim Porell says; z/OS is deaf and blind, but it's the best platform
for secure data-intensive applications. Why should we bust our asses
reinventing z/OS capabilities on Linux (or any other platform) and at
the same time, why reinvent Linux on z/OS? Both have a role to play.
They already work well together and together they are significantly
greater than the sum of their parts.

 HUH?

Word here in Sheffield is that IBM will significantly de-emphasise zLinux
this year.

As always, it's worth what you paid for it. And my liability is limited to the

Not that I know of. But we know almost nothing of the Jaffe family
