Re: 64-bit Common Storage in z/OS 1.10 (HVCOMMON)
Maybe I'm to last to figure this out ... Anyone (else) looking to download this, make sure you have java script turned on, else (using 2818) you'll keep getting referenced to paper on Herc (from Austin) ... Shane ... Re: 64-bit Common Storage in z/OS 1.10 (HVCOMMON)
Mark, We are in the process of updating the doc for 64-bit common apparently we missed the Extended Addressability Guide. There is information about the GETCOMMON parameter of IARV64 in "z/OS V1R10.0 MVS Programming Authorized Assembler Services Reference Vol 2 (EDTINFO-IXGWRITE)". Also my SHARE session "2818 - Common Storage Virtual Storage Constraint Relief (VSCR)" from the August 2008 San Jose Share contains information on 64-bit Common. Let me know if you have any additional questions. 64-bit Common Storage in z/OS 1.10 (HVCOMMON)
I don't see any mention of 64-bit common storage in the Extended Addressability Guide for z/OS 1.10 . It doesn't document what a 64-bit address space looks. Am I missing a more current manual? Or is it documented somewhere else? I did find in the Initialization and Tuning Reference for IEASYSxx HVCOMMON that "the 64-bit common area will be placed below the 4T line". That is confirmed by D VS,HVCOMMON. Any good SHARE presentations I missed (I haven't looked yet)?
